im thinking of getting 1. all my close college friends want me to do it. how much does it hurt and what are the benefits? or maybe a tongue piercing..

Ok first off.. I LOVE piercings, i have 9 including my lip, I'm a body piercer and i would say by how you wrote that , that pain shouldnt matter because you are getting it for the wrong reason. You should never get a piercing ( or tattoo for that matter) because someone wants you to, its the dumbest reason in the world. Things like that you should get for you, because you want them. And true piercings arent permanent but sometimes even after they are out. you can still see where they were. Lip piercings do have a degree of pain involved.. you're sticking a needle through your lip, it does hurt. Its not unbearable. As far as benefits, the only benefit most facial piercings have are to the individual. So i hope you think long and hard and dont get it unless its something YOU want.

Pain, infection, lowered public opinion, reduced job opportunities, fewer social opportunities, unnecessary expense, possible discrimination or ridicule.

What is the object of mutilating your body this way? Really, I'm curious? Why would you do this? Because others think you should? Really? Sorry, I don't get it.

My brother got his done and I was with him at the time. He says it doesn't hurt for more than a few seconds and it didn't swell or anything, but everyone is different. Oh and make sure your doing this because you want to, not because your friends want you to.

you're doing it because all of your friends want you to? are you serious.. come on now.. dont do it for them .. if they want u to do it so much why dont they get one themselves? come on now people.. my bf has a lip piercing and he said it didnt hurt that much.. but then again.. nothing hurts to him..

OUCH! it has no benefits. it looks wierd and ugly. and u mite even end up spoiling ur face forever. u know what, set ur own trends, dont follow them. ppl who get something done, cos others have done it or others want them to do it are losers.

I have both done. It hurts for a second. you just have to be still, and calm. if you do do it, get listerine and ice and keep them handy. do it only if you want it. if you take it out you will have a scar.

it doesnt have any benefits. it looks disgusting, and it is. And DO NOT get your tounge peirced. my sister did and she had to eat baby food for a while and she talked funny. SO, PLEASE DON'T GET EITHER DONE!
