NO ONE is worse because of sobriety, period.
In the case of Aerosmith, it's a combination of factors, including a career that has lasted close to 35 years and now relying more on collaborations with, and songs from, outside writers. And, for awhile, it seems, being pressured by a record company to redo the "Pump" album three or four times.

Well, you can't really say. I mean, seriously. Even artist move on with time. Look at Metallica, they no longer sing like they use too before. And they're awesome still.
