Black women have fuller lips than Angelina. Why aren't they recognized for their beauty?

The media constantly extols Angelina for having full, thick lips. Her lips look like that because of a bee sting. However, several black actresses such as Keri Washington and Jill Marie Jones have MUCH FULLER lips than Angelina. Why does society praise white women for having features that nearly ALL black women are BORN with?

To the previous person who answered this question, you are way off topic. No one said that black women declude themselves. The question was why aren't black women recognized for their physical attributes like white women are. The answer is pretty simple yet sad. America, the largest hypocrite nation, is completely racist. There are several black women who have MUCH fuller lips than Angelina, yet Angelina (because she's white) gets all the attention because heaven forbid that a black woman outshine a white woman. White women are the ones that have to spend millions of dollars having plastic surgery to get asses and tities whereas black women have developed full C cup breasts and an age at about 15 (some even younger). White girls are mainly plain and insipid and usually have to borrow fashion and styling ideas from other sources. Black women are usually unique and create their own style. So don't sit there and say that black women aren't true to themselves. Halle Berry and Alicia Keys are glorified by the media because, as I mentioned, Hollywood is racist. They refuse to mention the beauty of real African American women like Jada , Nia Long, or someone else; therefore, they focas the spotlight on biracial women. As far as the whole hair issue goes, white girls actually wear more weave than blacks. Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, and several other white tricks have a head full of fake hair. People just automatically assume that it is their real hair because they're white. Plenty of black girls have long hair of their OWN; all of them don't wear weave. Many stupid *** white girls go out and dye their hair blonde just to fit in with what's considered beautiful. All I'm saying is that black women should get recognized for their attributes just like white women do. They shouldn't treated like second class citizens. I know all that I've written is going to go in vain, for some of you racist, jealous bastards will never change your bias ways.

That is a good question. Although ANgelina is a pretty girl ( if you can look past the adultery and homewrecking) but there are many women (celebrities and non celebrities) who are exquisite. Jill Marie Jones from Girlfriends is one of the most beautiful women I have seen. I am a straight white woman and I think she is beautiful. I would shoot the Easter Bunny to have a body like hers. I guess that Angelina has a better publicist. I personally dont think she is all that.

It's the same reason if they have a booty, it's like "OMFG!!" It's because it's not common in them. Stuff that one race has more of just isn't appreciated till a rariety comes around. Just like Vanessa Williams was thought to look exotic because her eyes are a color that black women rarely have (I think they're blue/grey). If you're a minority in Hollywood, you're more often praised for having white features, because that's considered the ultimate show of beauty (which is a total LIE!!) A white girl with full lips is thought to be exotic because she has that extra something most girls her race doesn't. Oh and Halle Berry being praised as exotic in Hollywood for her white features is simple... white features aren't hard for her to have been born with because she's biracial, her mother's a white woman. Same with Alicia Keys.

Because Most of society thinks that exotic=erotic . It isn't exotic for a Black woman to have beautiful full lips. So that leads to the question, why arent' the ones with thinner lips recognized as exotic? I know that sounds stupid.....Sorry At the same time I don't think that all of society praises them, there are a lot of comedy skits containing white women getting their lips freakishly enlarged by the plastic surgeon!lol

No, I think it's more that Angelina *roll eyes* is more the media's whore no matter what...she just happens to be a white girl with fuller lips (even real?) so it gets pointed out because it's not the norm.

Angelina's not famous for her lips. She's got a lot more going for her than that. That just happens to be one feature of a woman who is extremely attractive.

By the same token, Halle Berry is often praised for her"white" features. But once again, she's not famous for that. She's simply beautiful, and as a coincidence, she happens to look "white".

Because its not common for a white chick to have those features. You can go to almost every black women and see the same features, and it's like that with every race. If you are asian and have blue eyes, I'm sure that asian will get praised. It's just the rareness.

good question...unfortunately no real answer...the only things that can really be said is what we think should be done/should be said or acknowledged...unfortunately that would just be a bunch of coulda/woulda/shoulda's...they should acknowledge that feature on black women...but maybe its so common and thats why they don't, maybe thats why they acknowledge it on her because not many white women do have full lips like hers, because you have to admit she does look gorgeous...not saying that it makes it right to only acknowledge it on her, but everyone is beautiful in different ways and if that was a common trait on everyone then it wouldn't be something that they pointed out probably

People can be so mainstreamed to believe that only the young slender white people can be beautiful, and they look over the rest of the vast beauty in the world.

I thought they were? Black women have much better self esteem than most white women and black men seem to love a real womans body (curves ). I have always admired black women for their beauty and overall essence!
