You have to ask your doctor for that. Ususally they say it's ok, but it depends on your pregnancy and the opinion of your doctor.

I am a stylist and I wouldn't color pregnant womens' hair especially in the first trimester. My obstetrician advised against it while I was pregnant. It is just unknown these days what can pass through the fetus and they always say don't do it. I would do hilights because the color isn't applied directly to the scalp.

You should check with your doctor, but the only problem I can think of would be with the fumes from the coloring process. I'm sure that your hair dresser has had experience with this. Tell her your pregnant and she will take whatever precausions are necessary.

it is not safe you should not color your hair while you are pregnant because of the fumes, you do not want that bleach or coloring ot touch your scalp. If you are that worried by all means ask your ob/gyn....but I do know you should not color your hair while being pregnant

Yup. I did every 4 weeks through both of my pregnancies, and nothing happened. The girls were both even born with hair - lots of it! I was a bald baby. Maybe it helped?

a lot of people do it and there is controversy between doctors. Do what your doc tells YOU personally to do. I've head a lot of people say that maybe highlighting is better since the highlights never hit your scalp.

lol since you're getting so many conflicting answers, I suggest you check with the Dr. I coloured mine every six weeks, no problems, but I did switch to the ammonia free products (Clairol Natural Instincts).
