I am going to go back in time a few years, but the albums itself are pretty current, hoepfully all this helps as these are albums I just could never take out of my CD Case.
1. Nada Surf - "Let Go", 2002, Barsuk Records.
The one hit wonder of the song "Popular" in 1995 certainly made anyone who may have listenened may have thought this band didn't have the talent to make it. Skip over their somewhat better second album and dart right to "Let Go" where you know the band has praticed and worked extremely hard.
There are two versions one with the orginal 12 tracks or If you can get the album with the extra tracks they are certainly worth it. The pacing of the album is very exceptional kicking the CD into high gear with "The Way You Wear Your Head" and with also radio friendly tunes such as "Inside of Love" or the ultra smooth sounds of "Neither Heaven Nor Space which is a suprisingly good extra. It is one of the most overlooked albums ever produced in 2002 and I would recommend it any day of the week. If you don't see it, The Weight Is a Gift is there follow up which is good also but in the end doesn't pale in comparison.
2. The Best of the Corrs - 2001 -Alantic Records
While some of the lyrics can be down right too girly for me, they still put out some impressive music. They mix pop, rock with a bit of an Irish sound that gives them a uniqueness to their music. The variety on this album is all there giving you more then your money's worth and Andrea Corr acutally has a voice that is harmonic and beautiful. It also comes with two new songs that were unreleased that I found were as good as the other ones.
3. The Polyphonic Spree -"Together We're Heavy" Hollywood Records, 2005
Now this album I put on here because I love large symphonic bands which they combine with a choir and a bit of rock. If you are younger this may not be for you, but if you are in to being in band or what not, you will appriciate this album and what they are trying to accomplish.
If you are having a bad day, put this in your CD player and you will be high as a kite when its over. It gives good positive messages to look towards the future, to let the kids grow and how to find yourself in a time of need. To believe in you and to have close friends, this is the ultimate pick me up and will not make you feel depressed like most albums do.
4. Beastie Boys - "Licensed to Ill" Def Jam Recordings "1986"
After all these years, this album still sounds as fresh and dangerous as it did when it first came out. Rap was just at its beginning stages and this one sure took the cake and paved the way for many other artists to come. I still love this album today and kids are still known for singing some its tunes.
5. Marron 5 - "Songs about Jane" June 25, 2002
These are one of these albums that didn't catch on till a few years later that I don't know if was because a movie or what not. These guys are able to comine an R&B sound with rock and I find their work to be pretty smooth. Their emotionally strong lyrics show the soft side as well as the side that says they are going to kick some @#$.
This is another album that I just enjoy and I hope that all this has helped you pick up a new CD even though that none of these aren't quite new.

this song called "Tim McGraw" by Taylor Swift..
cause i can really relate to it,,cause my bf moved to texas,, I know it seems like it is going to be a song about she loves Tim McGraw & he was a little boy his dad was a baseball player and now he's a superstar and married to Faith Hill. It's nothing like that. It's about this couple falling in love because of a Tim McGraw song.& how they will always think of each other when they hear one. aint that sweet??...lol!!! She wrote this song herself. When she comes out you all will love her. She is only 16 years old!
its a country song..go to http://www.myspace.com/taylorswift to hear it!
