He supposedly got circumcised when he was born and it looked okay I guess, now it only look circumcised when you pull the skin back. When he straightens his legs out the skin goes over the head of it and he rarely gets a hard on. What is up with this? He is about to get his check up but I'm switching pediatricians and I don't know what he'll say. It's freaking me out. My mother in law had boys and she said it was normal but it doesn't look normal. He's a chunky little guy. My fiancee says it's his fat pushing over the head of the penis.

It may be the same problem we had with our son was born. The resident who did the circumcision botched it and the skin grew back over the head so it looked like he'd never had one. He was several months old when we had a general surgeon do what he called a "revision". The baby was given a general anesthetic and the surgeon removed the foreskin. He was in surgery only a few minutes. When they brought him back to the room he was laughing and giggling as though nothing had happened.

Tell the doctor what you've observed and let him examine your baby. He's the best one to judge what--if anything--needs to be done.

i had the same thought with my 4 month old but if you look at an infant's uncircumcised penis you cant see the head at all, it looks like an elephants nose, and it does not retract. as the child (and his winky) grows it will look more like it is circumcised.

I go with the fat theory.
I heard once that if the baby is really fat then the penis gets almost hidden!

i dont think baby's that age get hard on's and secondly his little thing is so tiny and if he is chubby the forskin will cover his head sometimes.. its nothing to worry about.. itll grow and it wont be a problem anymore.

They may not have taken enough off. This happened to my nephew. They had to go back and get more taken off when he was 8 because it kept getting infections.
