well that is a little extreme all that is doing is removing all the oil. But then your skin is likely to become very dry.

I have fought with acne all my life and a few years ago i gave up the fight and just start me a journal telling about how different products worked.

I found that Noxzema foaming face wash is the best. I no longer have zits. I may get a blackhead every once in a while but i can handle that.

I know for someone with oily skin this sounds insane i thought so to. Make sure you use a moisturizer daily. this does two things. One it keeps the skin you have from being so red looking because the skin is not dry and two if you wear makeup or work in a dirty place then it prevents the makeup dirt grease and oils from getting to your pores.

I have allergies to about everything and i have to be really careful what i put on my skin. Noxzema cold cream is something I can not use but the face wash is. And I use oil of olay moisturizer.

Good luck and treat your skin nice I wish i would have and now I am paying for it.

Well, I can understand the theory behind it because dawn cuts grease, but dont try it. Your skin needs to keep a balanced ph and dish soap would screw that up.

If you are worried about acne, try something made for acne..Fortunatly this is something I've never had to worry about (I've never had more than one pimple at a time) but my mom and my brother were both cursed with horrible skin, so that, along with my cosmetology license, has given me some insite.

Try clean and clear products. They have an acne line. I like their other products. I do use the blemish control when I do get a pimple and it works (thats the little gel you stick on your pimples.

One of the biggest reasons people have trouble controlling acne is because they do not moisturize their skin. Your skin needs moisture and if you don't do it your skin produces extra oil to overcompensate... just make sure you are using an oil free moisturizer.

Also, make sure you are using a clean washcloth.. I like those little throw away ones (I use them because I hate getting make up on my real ones.. I use the real ones in the morning).

Make sure you are washing your face in the morning and then moisturizing it. Moisturizing protects from the sun, the wind, make-up, and anything else you may come in contact with.

Make sure you are washing your face every night, and then moisturizing. You don't want to go to bed with all that moisturizer from the morning on your face, by now its full of dirt.

Make sure you are washing your pillow cases frequently. Its the one place your face touches for a very long time.

Dont touch your face.

Well I see the idiots are out answering tonight, But here is something you should try if you cant afford a trip to the dermatologist. Put toothepaste on them before you go to bed at night. I have heard this from many people. Drink lots of water-It will flush your system and is effeective 85% of the time. Even dermatologists will tell you Proactive works great. In conclusion, and this is not scientifically proven but I went to the ocean when I was a teenager for a week and I dont know if it was the salt water or the sun but I cleared up. I hope I made a difference! I wish you the best!

Although different things work for different people, I totally think that that is false.

Not only will the detergent dry out you skin(the face is sensitive), but the cold water will overstimulate your skin, which might cause more acne.

Don't overdo it whatever you do and always wash your face using mild wate, not too warm, not too cold.
I use Biore.

I wouldn't advise you to do it because the doctor's normally say that soap will actually irritate the skin. Try using Benzoyl Peroxide or some type of acne cleanser but don't use the Dawn detergent, it will make matters worse.

No way. The washing dish soap contains things to scurb off oil on your plate, not your face.
Be sensible, don't rush and act just because someone say so.
Don't use a dish washer soap to wash your face.

Please do not believe this whole load of crap. It is purely hearsay and not based on facts. Using the dish detergent will only harm your skin further.
