I feel and think that President Bush is not interferring with Isreals actions in Lebenon because it could be to his (Bush) political advantage to become the "wartime President" again. An all out war in the middle east is good for oil prices and business. Or is he waiting for word from God again.

NO

Whether you choose to admit it or not
We are at war with Islamic extremeists
It is considered politically incorrect to say so
But political correctness will just get more people killed

The US is supporting Isreal because they are doing what we should be doing
You cannot reason or have treaties with radicals
They see negotiating as a sign of weakness
You have to go in and flatten them and utterly eliminate them
No talking about it and no negotiating after you start

Lebanon was told to rid it's self of Hezbollah, they chose not to
Instead they watched as Hezbollah set up rockets to attack Israel
What did they expect would happen
Did they think Israel would suck their thumb and cry
If they did - then they are getting an important lesson

We need to flatten Iran before they can get a " Dirty " bomb to Hezbollah
If things get radioactive or nuclear there it will be bad for all sides
But will we - NO - because we have no will to fight
or even the will to admit we are in a war for survival
Why - because until a city here disappears in a mushroom cloud
we will just go on with life as normal and downplay things
" They say they want to kill us - but surely they don't mean it"
We have people here talking stupidity

We will face WW III in the next 10 years - we should fight it sooner rather than later
it will be much less bloody without Nukes on both sides
But we have not even secured our borders

A lot of Americans see all this violence in the Middle East as some part of God's master plan for the end times. Israel has America's support because 1) Jews comprise a small but politically powerful minority in the U.S. and have influenced American foreign policy as regards Israel, and 2) some Christians support the Jews' return to their ancestral homeland as an event precipitating the return of Christ and the onset of Armageddon.

Even if Bush does not view Israel as some of his fellow Christians do, he is so closely aligned with them politically that he cannot but back Israel. I don't know if that's sinister or perfidious, but I think those are the two major reasons why America supports Israel.

The US has supported Israel for many years. It is not just Bush.
We are very unlikely to step in. It would be perceived as a grab for control of the middle east and would draw in other countries on the other side to 'check' our involvement.
On the other hand - Bush is stupid and his advisers are Wilsonian warmongers. Who knows?

it's not sinister. it's not a conspiracy. that's what the anti-semitics spew.

america has a racial caste system whether it admits it or not. jews in israel are generally whiter than the palestinians. that's why we don't mind that the zionists stole the land of the palestinians, just like we think it's ok to use the stolen land of the native americans, they are darkies too.

but the israeli lobby is very influential here in the US.

but mainly we support the israelis because of their race.

Bush likes war and killings, he is enjoying it. He is the worst president in American history who support Israel for its genocide.

Not sinister at all.

Perhaps if Hezbollah did not bomb the Marine barracks in Beirut killing 241 US Marines we could sympathize with them.

But they did.... so we don't.
