It's when you're embarrassed to talk in front of someone for fear of looking or saying something dumb or wrong.
No one really cares if you say something wrong, though.
You only think they do.
The only one that cares is you. That's why you're shy.

Shyness is a fear of swinging at a 103 miles per hour fastball coming in right at you.

Joel Zumaya was clocked at 103 earlier in the season, and his fastball is wicked.

Shyness could also be a fear of running towards first base, if you should happen to hit that fastball.

Should you hit that fastball, and your bat speed is above average, you should be able to lay the smackdown on it, and quite possibly (depending on how a baseball player you happen to be) hit that MLB fastball over the fence for a 6 run homer.

Now, 6 run Homeruns are also shy because in order for that to happen you must be very brave to stand up in the batters box with all nine men on base.

Also, you have to consider what projects such events could occur. If it is a Thursday afternoon, televised on ESPN between the 2 best teams in baseball (whic are BOTH in the AL Central), and the sun is shining at 78 degree angle slightly left of center, you could make it happen.
