I'm from Chicago,Illinois and I celebrate these holidays with family and/or friends. By celebrating I mean spending the majority of the day/night and having a big meal.
New Years
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas
Valentines Day I will send cards to my Mom & Sister & also my younger nieces and nephews. I treat my lady to dinner and a movie or a play and buy her some kind of gift that shows my love for her.
Halloween I may go to a party if I feel like wearing a costume.
St. Patricks and April Fools are just like any other day to me.
The holidays in my first group at the top of my answer are also paid holidays from work-all the more reason to celebrate them!!
Hope I've answered your question!

My family doesn't really follow a specific religion. I can choose to celebrate whatever holiday i want.
--And the ones i don't celebrate are St. Patricks day, because I don't have anything to do with it, i can't legally drink yet so its not like i'm gonna go to bars that day.
--No April Fools either cause it's kinda childish lol and i don't think this holiday has to do with any religion. Used to follow it in elementary school.
--Instead of Memorial day its Remembrance Day in Canada, and in school we have assemblies and stuff on November 11 but i'm sure in the future when i'm working or something, it wouldn't really matter and i won't do anything about it
--Theres Canada day on July 1, instead of Independance Day, although i go to New York when its around july 1 and july 4 to visit family
--Labor day is just a day off before school starts
--And Thanksgiving is first week of October
everything else is the same. =)

Thanksgiving is an exclusive American Holiday.
Labor Day for all other countries (except America) is on May 1st, which is ironic since Labor Day was inspired by workers in America. The meaning of Labor Day is lost in America.
I guess all countries celebrate New Year's. The Chinese acknowledge Jan 1st as New Year but we also have a Lunar New Year, which falls around Jan-Feb, depending on the Chinese calendar.
I guess most influential countries celebrate Valentine's Day, and acknowledge Christmas (even if they are not Christians..it has become an excuse for office parties and for exchanging gifts).
St. Patrick's Day is quite unheard of in Asia. (I may be wrong).
Memorial Day is made known by war-time novels.
Every country has their Independence Day.
Yes, children play jokes on April Fools. The origin of April Fools is quite interesting also.
Halloween is celebrated by club-goers in Asia (correct me if I'm wrong) to dress up and party.

I live in D.C. area. From Oregon though. Holidays are interest in, for Americans. As long as you have someone to celebrate it with, than you will.
I'm single, no family around me, so as far as any holiday goes; it's more a matter of convenience.
New Years is probably my favorite. Just because of the whole "out with the old, in with the new" theory. A new start, fresh start.
Valentines day is only good if you have a significant other.
Halloween is a great time to get dressed up and go party, but I don't hand out candy or anything (safety reasons)
Thanxgiving and x-mas, I feel are for families and religious groups. I don't have either, so they are not that important to me. (This can be a lonely time of year, considering I was raised differently).
As far as the others...
Holidays are just like birthdays, we get together and celebrate.
It's just an excuse to party, for Americans.

Well, I believe you and I are both from the U.S. but the only holidays that I actually 'celebrate' are:
1. Christmas
2. Easter
3. Thanksgiving
4. birthday (if that counts)
Of course, some of the others I recognize. Such as New Year's, I stay up until midnight, and bring in the new year, but I don't do it with anyone else. And on Independance Day, I read the Declaration of Independance in its entirety, but that's it. No fireworks for me.
So, even though I'm from the U.S. I don't celebrate them all.

I celebrate all of them except Labor Day. My family goes all out on holidays. I love the holidays that we can buy gifts for everyone because I like to go all out on shopping. My family usually celebrates Christmas and Birthdays more then others and we end up spending thousands of dollars for those holidays. I have family all over so it is different how we celebrate these holidays where ever we go.

I celebrate New Years, Independence Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. I'm from India and I'm not Christian. As for Valentine's Day, I just don't like the whole concept of it, so my boyfriend and I never celebrate on that day. We never really celebrate Memorial Day and Labor Day either, besides the occasional barbecue. As for St. Patty's Day and Christmas, I'm not Irish or Christian.
