Sure we vote for people to represent who will best side with the issues we believe in. But how can you be so sure that one person will represent all of the issues you believe in? I'd go and vote for issues.. maybe they could make this available online.

I agree with you. The people should decide the important issues by plebiscite, but our crooked politicians would never go for that.

Not only can one individual *not* represent me in a legislature, but the candidate closest to my views is quite likely to lose the election to begin with. (I'm a moderate independent, in other words completely unrepresented in government.)

In the best case, each of us would have as much power as possible over our own lives, so that we could decide things for ourselves. For example, if 52% of people like Pepsi, and 48% like Coke, then 52% drink Pepsi and 48% drink Coke. The 48% that prefer Coke aren't forced to drink Pepsi. In some ways, politics is a strange business; if there could be such a thing as a political "free market", it might work wonderfully.

Until then, vote as much as you can, even if it means casting a blank ballot (or voting for "none of the above"). And when a vote on an issue comes up, vote!

Agreed. I'd rather vote on issues as well.

I AGREE I WOULD LIKE TO VOTE FOR ISSUES AND NOT FOR PEOPLE
