Especially about the Patriot Act and America losing its freedoms under the guise of security.

I used to be a Republican who used to be a Democrat. Now I'm a Democrat again, and am voting Democrat in 2006. Things have gotten out of hand. Our constitution guaranteed our rights to freedoms, and we should be entitled to all of them. Freedom of speech, among other rights are being thrashed without regard.

So, to you liberals, my apologies, you were right about everything.

Thank you.

pistons, it takes a lot of humility to change your mind publicly like that.

bush says he wants more freedom and democracy for iraq and less for us.

Hey Piston,

Sadly, they are half right. The dems can't lead either.

We are not really a democracy. Sadly, we are a two party oligarchy. (Governed by a family or a few people.) Ever see a third party? Sure down at the bottom of the voting machine. Know why? the top two will kill off everything in sight to protect themselves. They need each other to exist.

A lot of people do not care for Michael Moore. But no one can refute that the guy isn't 100% pure blooded civic-minded American (even if he slants things to suit the view most of us suspect is probably true). Let his critics get out there and reach the top with some lively, heated, embarassing, honest, direct questions for a change. They couldn't come close.

We need a third party with some cahoonies! I'm starting it right now. The Three Cahoonies Party. That's certainly odd! (pun intended)

By the way, help me out if you would. Every click on my home page counter is a vote for the Cahoonies party. Go to the bottom of

Every time you click the counter goes up. I'm trying to reach 100,000. We'll start out for 20,000 then have a drink! Thanks fellow Cahoonians!

I've been a citizen of these here United States for a long time.
You never did have as many rights as you may have thought you had. Republican or Democrat doesn't matter. Whoever is the President doesn't matter. The Prez only gets at most 8 years and no one in the Senate, Congress or whatever position will ever agree on anything.
No one can fix America in 4 or 8 years. And the Prez. has an entire mob to answer to in his/her own office. Yet he/she gets the blame.
Correcting political issues and rights is like trying to convince Americans to stop littering.

I'm neither a liberal nor a Democrat (I'm a moderate independent), but I do want to note that although the Republican government is indeed violating our rights, there is no guarantee that the Democrats will not do the same. However, electing Democrats _might_ be a step in the right direction. Time will tell. If you want to preserve (or regain) your rights, stay vigilant, and don't rely on elected "representatives" to protect them.

You particular can! Open-mindedness and an means to work out and admit once you're incorrect is what might want to save usa of america excellent this second. you do not prefer to develop right into a liberal...yet taking the hatred blinders off will carry round a much better information of each area. the country needs both democrats and republicans...we choose a call. yet what we do not choose is lack of comprehend-how and intollerance and hatred for the 'different' area. It would not coach an illustration of weak spot after all of us conform to disagree. comprehend is regrettably lacking in usa of america lately.

No need to apologize for doing your homework and learning the truth. By the way I am a conservative republican that was against the war and the acts of this administration. They are an embarrasment to America.
