My neighbor has a pet bunny and one of the neighbors told us that she saw the neighbor's bunny it was left outside in a cage and only had a piece of birthday cake in the cage. Is this considered animal abuse? Also, the other neighbor notices that they leave that bunny outside most of the time. Thing is, now they have a dog. Would this be considered animal abuse? What should I do?

Oh, I forgot to mention this part. The mother a couple of years ago left her children in the house. While she went to the store. She did this a couple of times. The children were 2 years of age and 4 years of age when this occured. So, I can imagine about the poor bunny. What do you think?

wow a lot of this depends. its DEFINITELY not ok for them to be feeding the bunny birthday cake. also if it was left outside it depends more if it was a hot sunny day a rainy day or just mild day. mild day is probably ok but the bunny can get overheated and dehydrated or if its wet and rainy it could get sick. its fine and actually better for the bunny if it spends most its time outside as long as it doesnt have access to the outside like the streets and stuff and as long as it has shade. and its fine for the bunny to be with a dog if they get along but if they dont well then this bunny's life sucks. so ya if the bunny's being terrorized by a dog and left in the sun with bday cake and stuff like that call someone about it but not just cause you've seen it outside once in mild weather or if its safe in the backyard. so it all depends

OK..Call INFO LINE in my state it is 211. It doesnt hurt to ask. Now its okay for a bunny to be outside as long as their is shading and plenty of water in the warm wheather. To be left in direct sunlight during hot wheather is cruel. If you don't know, bunnies can smell up a house very fast, so as long as they have shade and water.

call your local SPCA and see what they have to say - generally the law requires food, water and shade/shelter.. I wouldnt consider a peice of birthday cake to be food
please help this bunny by calling somebody who knows the laws in your area better than we on yahoo answers can know

I leave my dog on the balcony all day if it isnt too hot because she'd rather be out there than inside.

If you honestly think that it is abuse, place an anonomous call into the animal welfare league in your area.

Cake is not a proper diet for a rabbit..Call Animal control..You dont have to give your name..Maybe a warning from them will be all it takes for them to take proper care of the animal..And YES, It IS your Buisness..When an animal isnt being cared for properly Its Everyones Buisness to make sure that it gets checked out....

You should definately make some calls to the authorities. Rabbits shouldn't eat people food. If nothing happens from that I suggest that at night you kidnap it and then bring it to a local rabbit shelter. You can find one on this site. http://www.rabbit.org or check out http://www.bundergroundrailroad.org

Call or visit your local humane society and ask them what they think. How nice of you to care about the bunny!

mind your own bussines, As long as they are not hurting or starving the animal they are not abusing him.
PS it's of common knowledge that bunnies love cake.
