I think that Andrea was best choice as winner. Just looking at both covers from the FASHION magazine shoot showed what Andrea can do versus what Alanna can't do, Andrea can sell a magazine. If I was passing by a rack of magazines and had no clue who either of these girls were I would definitely have chosen the Andrea cover.

Andrea's cover says to me, 'I am here! Look at me!'
Alanna's cover says to me, 'Hmm were do I look? Huh?'

Modelling is not ALL about being good looking and pretty sometimes it's about, an awkward grace like Sisi. Or coming out of that shell like Andrea. Or about being that girl didn't have the typical model body like Alanna. I thought they made a good final three. They each had there own stories and are unique in there own ways. I think they will be successful models.

For all of the people who think that Andrea is too skinny has anyone seen some of the other models out their in Paris, Milan, London or even the Hollywood actresses puhlease. The girl is only 19 she's still growing by the time she's around 25 she'll have put on some pounds when her metabolism slows down a bit. And I am sure she's still be walking a catwalk then too after somemore lessons though (Andrea might have been my fav. but Stacy has more teaching to do with her before Andrea's TRULY runway ready).

I wish all the best to Canada's FIRST Next Top Model, Andrea. She will be the reason I buy my first FASHION magazine. And since I believe they got it absolutely right I was defintely be watching season 2.

If by "fashion industry" you mean high fashion, such as editorial, runway, and high end commerical print (hawking expensive crap), I could see Andrea standing a chance if I never saw this show and you only showed her shoulder up. However, is there some other contestant that looks edgier and exudes more confidence than Andrea who sobs and bitches, which are moods that flip flop back and forth without reason? Yes.

Yes, Jeanne, this industry is really tough. I'll take your word for it because who would know better than you who reports on it and Tricia who has been in the "trenches". It must be your expert opinions that Andrea will fare well in this world despite her less than stellar coping abilities in a house full of model wannabes that were indifferent, already blatantly bitchy, and just school yard childish.

I can't say who I would have chosen as the winner because the more I look back on the eliminations a lot of them seemed weak. I went along with the eliminations because you judges are suppose to be experts, have a keen eye, and know what the heck you guys are talking about but I'm totally boggled.

I don't know how you judges ended up with the last two. There is something seriously messed up about the judging process.

AND if by asking this question, you actually care what viewers think about the results and who SHOULD have won, how about having the viewers through voting influence the final two or the winner next season to some degree?

The ball's in your court, now don't drop it again in season 2, if there is a season 2.

(About the sarcasm, sorries but couldn't help it.)

I think, and its only an opinion, I would have been more likely to have chosen Alanna.I believe you were correct in helping Alanna to correct her facial distortions.Alanna had grown so much, as a model, as did Andrea.Alanna walked the runway with class, and didn' falter wearing a dress that was obviously backward. What would Andrea have done?I wish the judges hadnt used the shots of the last shoot.I preferred Andrea's dress.Andrea did have a few good pics,as did Alanna. But Andrea's body was far too slim, even more so than Twiggy, in her day.The thing that concerned me about Andrea,is her "possible" CD issues(the girls found huge amounts of candy stashed, yet she was almost anorexic-like in build). Each week she sought out someone, for support(besides her mother).Yes models do make friendships, but Andrea wanted gratification and acceptance, in the biggest way.Alanna was far more prepared emotionally, for an obviously tough role. The next time, I think the judges should review "the moments on cam" at the residence as we do.It is pretty easy to see where Andrea will go with her own self gratification. She is already bragging about being the "Canada's first top model and no one can take that away".Where is the humility. One could see that coming.Besides,in the cover girl shoot, Alanna's freshness was noted by the photographer/director.We should see a huge change in Andrea soon.Either she will be forced to grow up fast, or dissolve in a tough world. Also wondering why the "go see's" and the covergirl comments from the photographer were not mentioned in the final judging, or did I miss that? Also wishing the judge from the early moments of Canada's top model, was absent. I think Alanna would have won.Of course I am just guessing, but that is what these comments allow.Opinions.Thank you for letting me express mine.I wish Andrea all the best as she continues to grow.Smiling.

First of all, I have to say that I was very dissapointed with Canada's Next Top Model. To me, it either needed to be completely different from America's Next Top Model, or even better. It seemed like the show tried to be exactly the same as ANTM and failed miserably. There was just no spark to the show and a few of the girls were not even close to model standards, the photo shoots were extremeley boring compared to ANTM, and Tricia seems really monotonous. Alot of the girls chosen embarassed Canada. I mean, we already have enough to deal with with half of the United States thinks we live in igloos and that they are way better than us because they have a higher population.

I honestly don't think Andrea was the best choice to be Canada's Next Top Model. Personally, I don't think she's all that beautiful, and she has the personality and body of a 10 year old. She is way too childish and will be an embarassment to Canada. When it came down to the bottom two, i definetly would have chosen Alanna. She is so gorgeous, and charming, has a fantastic walk and has a bubbly personality. I still think you will see her in the fashion industry even though she didn't win the competition. But modeling competitions always seem to choose the wrong people. In ANTM, almost every single year the girl i loved and thought should win made it to the bottom two, and then was cut. (Mercedes, Amanda, Kahlen, Nic, JOANIE!!!!!!!)

There were some girls that I don't think should have been cut from the competition as early as they were. I really think Heather and Ylennia had the most potential and would have been great models. I think the judges cut down Ylennias spirit by telling her her hips are too big. I was watching the show thinking, "Oh my gosh! This girl is going to turn annorexic now!" The judges definetley didn't give Heather enough time to proove herself. First they cut off all her gorgeous, versatile hair which took alot of her confidence away. I know Tricia cut her hair too, but how many days later did we see her with long hair again? I don't see any of the girls getting to change their hair if they don't like their makeovers!

I hope that next season CNTM will have better candidates, KEEP THE BEST CANDIDATES, and make the show and photo shoots more interesting, because this season was a little embarassing for Canadians to watch.

SISI! For sure. I liked her quirkiness. And you judges said that's what was good about her and then you let her go for the same reason. I get sick thinking about the fact that Andrea won. Are you guys promoting anorexia as a healthy lifestyle or something?? The only thing she's good for with her current weight is to be the poster girl for Anorexics of America. She looks so unhealthy. Why is it when Canada does anything the Americans did first it just ends up being the poor cousin of America? The quality isn't there and the money, or whatever the budget is, isn't apparent? It's the same, whether it's Canadian Idol or Canada's Next Top Model, you vote off/eliminate anyone that's truly unique or that has any sort of talent. (Sisi for example) We seem to go so out of our way to be "Canadian" that the whole thing is just an embarrassment. Fashion people all the time say they don't promote anorexia, and they want to promote a healthy image; so why don't you? Why don't you choose girls who are a little curvy? (Or, gasp!, above a size 0 for starters) And you say we need more plus size models, but the opportunities are not plentiful, whether it be mainstream or high fashion. Fashion is the reason so many young girls feel bad about their bodies because fashion promotes the image that if you are too big to fit into designer clothing, then you're not beautiful or worth anything. Shame on you! You had the chance to pick someone with a healthy body shape, who was a great model and quirky to boot, but instead you went with the anorexic, candy addicted girl with pointy shoulder blades sticking out in the back. SHAME ON YOU! How do you sleep at night?

Hi Jeanne!

First let me say that you were a great judge for Canada's Next Top Model! If I were in your shoes, I'd have chosen Alanna! She's nice and has a great body and a refreshing face!

I think that Andrea is really too thin to make her way in the high-fashion world... But she's a great person! With more self-esteem, she will got it!

Sisi is a great model! But, maybe not the CNTM, I agree... For me, she would be great in the high-fashion industry!

And if I look at the 10 finalists, Ylenia is REALLY top model material! Also Heather!

I don't understand you and the judges sometimes when you eliminate some contestants that are so beautiful.

When Natalie has been kicked off, I was really surprised, but negatively! She was really good! Her face was refreshing, of course!

The first time that I've watched the show, on the first episode, Natalie and Dawn were my favourites, but at the end, I've learn a lot about Sisi, Ylenia and Alanna, and this is my final top 3.

The most beautiful girl in this competition was Ylenia, and I'm glad that she's not CNTM, because she will make something more BIG!

Tenika and Sylvie are great people, but not top model material. But it's just an opinion...!

Alanna was the best person to be CNTM!

Finally, CNTM was my favourite show, so I hope that you'll be in our T.V. next year! :P

Take care, and pursue your good work!

Vincent

If I were a judge I would have chosen Alanna. Personally, I think she was just better than Andrea- she had a better runway walk, she had a nice body, she had nice pictures, and definitely had more of that "Covergirl" look. I think she deserved to win it more because of all the hard work she put in, and the way she pulled off the "backwards dress" at the runway show. It's really too bad that she lost. But I'm still happy for Andrea, she was a really good model too and her last photograph was gorgeous! But she cries too much, and misses her family so much I don't know how she'll survive being away from home so much.

Alanna would have been the better choice for Canada's Next Top Model- to me she was more of a model than Andrea will ever be. But, hey I'm not a judge, the decision has been made and there's nothing I or anyone else can do about it. Congrats to both girls- Andrea and Alanna! And congratulations to you- you were a great judge and I'm sure it was a difficult decision.

I would have chosen Ylenia. She was by far the most beautiful. All of her pictures were great. The photographers loved working with her. Also, it made me angry when the judges kept referring to her bum as being big. What were they talking about. I certainly didn't see it. This is why so many young girls today have low self esteem. Anorexia seems to be the style today. The models and actresses of today - are misguided role models. The industry today and in the past puts a lot of pressure on people to look a certain way. If you don't conform, you lose to someone who will. Jeanie Becker should remember how she felt when people in her industry didn't think she was the right person for her job. Then think again on her comments on how big someone looks in a dress that would even make Shania Twain's hips look big. Also, I really think they should get some help for Andrea. She clearly has a problem! Did anyone else ever see her eat? The only time I did was when Stacy was there.

Andrea has come along way to become the model she is today, but I don't think she has the top model look, confidence and attitude. Her crying is not going to get her very far in the modeling industry if she is going to break down every time she feels pressure. Eventually, it will take a toll on her and compromise her beauty. It was very annoying to see her on the show and if it was an act to gain sympathy, it was frankly quite pathetic! She needs to grow up! Andrea does not have the natural beauty that Alanna has either and I find Andrea too be much too skinny. If I were a judge, I would have chosen Alanna... she's got the whole package! She started off as a cute little girl, but with the knowledge and experience she has gotten from Canada's Next Top Model, she has used it to embellish her beauty and her confidence.

I would have definitely chosen Andrea as well. She has a unique look, and it was stressed over and over again during the show that you were looking for someone who could model high fashion couture. She has exquisite bone structure - long neck, extremely thin, great face and eyes, and is androgynous-looking - a designer's dream! While Alana was cute and "pixie-ish", I did not find her to be strikingly attractive, or different. She looks like many of the teenagers/young adults in my neighbourhood - cute but nothing spectacular. She will definitely be successful at some sort of modelling, but not high fashion. I liked Andrea the moment I saw her on the show. She just stood out from the others and her presence was felt. I just saw a picture of her this a.m. and she looks absolutely fantastic.

I have to admit that I am partial to Andrea as I was also a 6 ft. "skinny as a rail" teenager and young adult, and I was always being teased. Now many, many years later, let's just say that I have "filled out" (haha).

By the way as an aside, the blogs on this site should not be open to the public - if you read Andrea's blog (or any of the other models), there are so many mean spirited and jealous people out there, it breaks my heart that people can actually be so cruel.
