I've had no problem with it before. I don't know what type of burner it is, it came with my HP computer. I use CloneDVD and AnyDVD programs. My DVD's have always been great before, an exact clone of the DVD I was burning.
Now, they come out all choppy and sometimes just quit playing in the middle of the movie. That, or the player(s) say "Unable to read disc." I've probably burned over 200 DVD's on this burner, could that be the reason?
I've cleaned the lens, and I burn at 4x speed on Imation DVD+R's (which can burn at 16x speed). Please tell me what's going on!

I think it's because the burner isn't as strong as others.
Mine is NEC; I have burned as many DVDs as you did, but have had no problem yet, an still. I think the burner's life is really low now. Also(importatne!) there are specific DVDs that are suited for your DVD. Use those DVDs that the company(DVD brand) tells you, because it will burn more stably without losing a whole buncha data. So, check the brand of your burner and find the DVDs for it. Otherwise, replace your burner.
oh, try to use Nero. It's very good program for burning CDs and DVDs.

Yes wise and mighty one you have all the right tools but as a fan of those softwares like you I am happy to say that DVD CLONE III has made a believer out of my stubborn mind. Not only do I still have Anydvd to knock out things that those dvd software burners claim they can do, but with this software I am burning flawless dvd at 35 minutes timelines. I saw this on http://Bigdoggpinc.com/ and I entered it at the bottom page in software request box "Dvd Clone III" enjoy it is worth the money and yes it has upgrades at no cost to us. If you want to have that secure feelings like before this is worth it.

Probably your DVD burner's lens become weak and needs to repair. You should contact vendor before warranty period over.

well imatation dvds and cds are cheap i use sonys dvd+r with accucore best quality ever
