I found out after running Dr. Watson that there is a program running everytiime I start my computer. I believe this is a virus that is slowing the performance of my PC. This file is an application hiding in my temp folder and my problem is I can't delete it because it is being used by windows. I tried to open my pc in safe mode but to my surprise, the file is not there to be seen. It will only appear if im starting up my pc in windows. The file name is also changing like efp5d.exe or Fhe4c5.exe. Thanks for whatever info and help u can give me.

Let me preface what I am about to tell you by saying that I am not a computer expert. I got this tip off of an old tech board a while back. I would first run a program like ad aware personal. Follow this by running a program called cws shredder. Delete anything these programs turn up. Windows Defender and a virus program like Trend Micro pccillin are also good to run. Hijack this is a good program, but you have to know what you are deleting or you could delete something you need. If all this fails....and I have had this happen, go to your Windows - System 32 folder. Make sure you have elected to show all hidden programs. Organize the folders by the date they were created or modified. Go to the folders which were created last. There is a good chance that these folders are the source of your problem. I had to take a chance and simply delete them to get rid of my virus problem. There were approximately 5 files which I knew I did not download that were created just after the problems started. The problem was solved when I deleted these files. If you run Hijack this, pay close attention to any file that shows up referenced as a BHO. If the BHO file does not relate to any program you recognize, there is a good chance it is a trojan or virus. Good luck!

To Clean Your C Drive( Disk Cleanup) This Would Delete all Your Temp Files and Will Not Harm Your Computer, as long as you haven't did any Downloads in a Few Days!
Go to Start, Then to Programs, Then to Accessories, Then to System Tools, Then to Disk Cleanup, Choose C Drive and OK, Then Choose Temporary Internet Files and OK, This Will Speed You Computer Up and Hopefully Delete Your Executable File that is Acting Like a Virus, You can Do a Download if you Like, Type in Search Adaware Personal SE It's Great Software and it FREE it Will Quarantine any Spyware or Viruses it Finds on Your Computer, I Did It and was Surprised at How Many Things that was on My Computer that I didn't Need! Hope This Helps!

Sounds like virus or spyware. You may need to research what specific virus it is and search for a 3rd party removal. You may also need something like Killbox to do the removing

Invest in a good anti-virus and spyware tool like Norton, McAfee or Webroot.

Try going into safe mode and deleting it. If this does not work, it is probablu not a virus but spyware. use spybot or adaware to get rid of it.
