Ok, so I know that the heartbeat can't be heard with a stethoscope until week 20 and you can't feel the baby move until weeks 16- 20, but can you hear the baby moving around? Just curious because I have a stethoscope and was trying to hear a heartbeat (which was not happening of course) but I heard a lot of tapping and was wondering if I was actually hearing the baby move. Does anybody know if this is possible??

No it is not possible because the fetus is still tucked behind your pelvic bone, which is also why you cannot hear the fetal heart til later. What you heard would have been bowel sounds...

I don't know if a stethoscope would work so well, but you can buy a baby sound monitor at Target for under $20. It's a lot of fun to listen to your baby grow.

I think it's hard to hear the heart beat on your own until late in the second trimester.

You're probably just hearing food and gas moving through your intestines.

The best time to check for baby movements is about three hours after you've eaten.

I went to the doctor and told her that I could feel rapid tapping and I thought it was the heartbeat. He told me that I couldn't, but I also knew I was pregnant before I found out, even though I had a period and was on birth control. Intuition is the best for you. If you think you can hear it than what does it matter?

You're probably hearing your stomache making noise: gurgling and stuff. I don't think you can "hear" a baby move. But, a friend of mine had an internal ultrasound at 8 weeks and she saw her baby and heard the heartbeat. They even took a picture. it looks like big head with a spine! :-)

tapping as when you hit water, like bubles
(gloop, gloop), tickles that feel like when you have an eye twitch, and mumbling sounds like when you have tons of unreleased gas? LOL... yes it's the baby moving at early weeks the baby moves tons of times bec they have all the space to move.
Enjoy the noises and feelings it's the best there is and if you are ecstatic with your pregnancy, these little noises will make you very, very happy. Congratulations and Good luck~

I'd say that it was probably wind in your belly making the noises i had never noticed it until i was pregnant because you are more aware of what is happening in your belly!!
