When I use anything with oil in it on the stove the oil evaporates and forms a residue on the stove. I try to wipe it up immediately, but if I miss it and it drys I can't get it off.

Try rubbing alcohol. Works like a charm.

sponge off your stove first to remove the removable stuff.. then use windex or glass plus. some kind of window cleaner... spray it on and leave it for just a few minutes. oil wipes right off. stubborn grease buildup may need a green scrubbie thing... not SOS, but the green scrubbie thing that comes attached to a sponge sometimes - (you can also purchase separately)

Try the old tried and true cleaners that dont cost alot:
Ammonia cuts real good follow instructions, and try the lemon scent, also those new Mr Clean scrub pads are good. And Softscrub for enameled surfaces,or Comet for
Stainless.

GREASED LIGHTNING Is the best. You can spray it on super thick grease and it will cut it. Have you ever pulled out a stove and seen all that crud that gets spilled down the side of it? Well greased lightning does the trick.

Baking soda on a damp cloth (like you would use cleanser) will cut through the residue. It is a very good strong cleaning agent that is a mild abrasive yet easy on the hands.

Dawn dish detergent or some formula 409 or some good ole pinesol. When you go the store next time look for a detergent or cleaning agent that says it cuts through grease.

Use windex for a light buildup. Use Fantastik or 409 for heavy buildup. Once it is clean, use windex each time you cook with oil.. Also, might consider putting a lid on your pan so not so much spatters.I use olive oil when cooking with grease...doesn't seem make as much buildup or spatter.

Try Dawn dishsoap. Let it sit on there for 10 minutes or so before wiping. If there are stubborn pieces left behind try using an SOS pad.

S.O.S. pads work great, or any cleaner with orange oil should work pretty good too. You can actually just use the orange peel and rub on there if it hasn't dried yet and it will cut the greasy feeling.
