Jesus is not a Mexican name, Jesus means savior or deliverer, and it's pretty much an original name that he has and it has nothing to do with Mexicans. BUT Mexicans do name their kids after Him in respect. Even though it is spelled Jesus, it's pronounced "hey-zeus" and is only spelled like Jesus.

It's actually a Greek rendering of the Hebrew / Aramaic name Yeshua or Yehoshua (Joshua). This name became Iesous in Greek, Iesu in Latin, and Jesus in a number of later transliterations to other languages, including Spanish (emphasis on the last syllable) and English.

Jesus never said, "My name is Jesus." He never spoke English. Somebody somewhere changed it. A funny (or pathetic) comment that can be applied to his name comes from a college freshman in her first philosophy class:"I always thought Jesus was American." Ha ha!! This was in Harpers a few years ago.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I'm sorry if I gotta laugh at your question..

So you think Mexican invented that name? That name is older than the Mexicans..

The real name is Y'shua or Jesus in spanish.. Spanish people are very religous, majority of spanish are Catholics and Christians.

So the bottom line is Mexicans or spanish people use Jesus as a name to honor jesus himself.
