My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since last month. I ended up getting my period on the 2nd this month so I assumed there was no pregnancy. On the 10th of this month I noticed a little brownish discharge after I went to the bathroom 3 times that day. I am confused because I wasn't suppose to ovulate until about the 16th this month. I was wondering if it could have been implantation bleeding and that I may have gotten pregnant sooner than I thought I would?

It is possible, but I would think it is highly unlikely, simply because implantation bleeding usually occurs 7-10 days after conception. This means that you would have had to conceive whilst you were on your period, which is fairly unlikely. I am willing to bet that the brownish discharge is just old blood left over from your period. I do wish you all the best of luck in conceiving though!

I do think that you may benefit from charting your ovulation, to pinpoint exactly what day of the month you are ovulating. It will be a lot easier than relying on an 'average' for most women. Most averages say a woman will ovulate smack bang in the middle of her cycle, this is not true for all women though. I got pregnant on day 8 of my cycle, which was 3 days after my period. Here's some things to consider in helping you to decide whether or not you are ovulating:

Many women who have an irregular period aren't ovulating. There are a number of ways that you can determine if you are ovulating or not.

The first and easiest way is to get a blood test from your doctor.

You can also buy an at home ovulation predictor kit, although these aren't always 100% accurate.

You can also chart your body basal temperature. On the day of ovulation, and every day after that until the beginning of your next cycle, your temperature is one degree higher than normal. It is recommended that you take your temperature before you get out of bed in the morning, and at the same time as movement affects the reading.

You can also examine the position of your cervix. When you are ovulating, your cervix is low and soft like the inside of your cheek. At all other times, your cervix is high and hard like the tip of your nose.

When you are ovulating, you may feel slight twinges around your ovaries

When you are ovulating, you may notice a difference in your cervical mucus. It should be clear and sticky, and you may be able to spread as much as 5cm string between your thumb and your forefinger. It needs to be sticky to draw in the sperm.

I'm going to include the link to a trying to conceive forum that I think you might find useful. It's full of supportive women with boundless knowledge about these issues. I learnt so much there that I doubt I would have learnt otherwise.

if ur periods r regular then its unlikely that it was implantation bleeding,as u urself have written that ur probable date of ovulation was 16th.on the other haand, there's IS a chance always.i'd say wait for some more time and go for a hcg test when ur period is due.
