It could be yes. Normally virtual memory is used when you're running out of main memory (RAM). That means it uses hard drive space. In the Control Panel, you can try and raise the amount of virtual memory in the System area. But a better solution would be to get some more RAM and close any programs that aren't necessary.

The virtual memory is what is used when you are running applications on your PC. If you get this warning it means there is too much going on at the same time (e.g. if you are running your email program browsing the web writing a document etc.
You can usually adjust this by going to the control panel and selecting the 'system' icon. Depending on the version of windows you may see a button called 'performance' (e.g. in XP, this is on the 'advanced tab'

well. you could increase the amount of ram you have that way you would not have to use as much virtual memory. virtual memory is space on your hard disk that your operating system uses for memory when no more RAM is available, before you buy anything first:
1) run the disk cleanup tool in accesories, system tools
2) get CCleaner, from www.download.com and do a clean and an issues scan.
3) uninstall any unused programs you have.

your computer sometimes stores parts of the ram on your hard drive if you dont have enough ram. when there is not enough allocated space on ur hard disk for windows to save ram to, it has to make its ram(page) file bigger.

This has happened to me before after viewing videos. I closed all windows, restarted my computer, and all was well after that.

Computer Slow
Download and then run startup.exe at:
http://www.mlin.net/startupcpl.shtml......
Can't live without it and windows...
Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.
Other things to try:
1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)
2 - Defrag
3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)
