I am moving up there as soon as im done student teaching and i want to have any papers in the works so that I can get a job sooner.

Check out the DOE website. http://www.pen.k12.va.us/

Also, find out if the license you'll be receiving has reciprocity in VA. A lot of nearby states probably will. Good luck!

The department of education will have a website.
Ask at the placement department of the college through which you're doing your student teaching--someone may know if you have reciprocracy.
Contact the ed. department of a univ. near where you'll be living. While the general hoops to jump through for certification are similar from state to state, they all have their own little quirks for certification.

Well first of all coming from the great state of Texas I dunno why in the world you would want to get certified in Virginia!!! = )
