it was the late great pistol pete maravich...the pistol was amazing..he averaged 44 points a game in his 3 year stint at lsu...remember this is before the 3 point shot...in his last year in the nba, the 3 point shot was finally put to play and as a celtic the pistol was 10 for 15 from 3 point range...it is mindboggling to think what his statistics would be had the 3 point shot been in play since the 1960s...but the pistol was more than just a scorer, he had a remarkable repertoire of passes...his fakes,feints, behind the back and between the legs passes dazzled opponents and spectators alike....too bad painful injuries to his knees forced his retirement at age 31 and missed being on the celtics first championship year with larry bird...pete died at the age of 40 in a pickup basketball game in la of a massive heart attack...tests showed he lived his entire life with an enlarged heart a condition that makes his feats even more remarkable
