so my sim card has been rejected... anyway i can fix it on my own without getting a new one or like going into a shop for help? can my phone be used without a sim card?

All GSM cell phones (ones that take SIM cards) can be used to call SOS (911) without a SIM card. But, sorry, thats all.
You can look online, and depending on what kind of phone you have, you might be able to unlock it. You could try calling what ever cell phone compony you have, tell them that you are going to sell this phone to a friend that has a different sim card, so you can buy a more expensive phone from them. They are making money, so often times they will unlock the phone for you. Bassicly, all GSM phones (bought from the store) come locked to a specific service. IE: T-mobile, Cingular. Once you unlock your phone, you can put any sim card in the phone. It is sort of a way for the compony to just make some more money. Once you unlock your phone, it will always be unlocked and you wont have to ever do it again. For as long as you have it, you'll be able to put in any SIM card you want.

Nope. Nope. And Nope.
You can't fix it on your own because it requires a special unlock code to get it functional again that can only be provided by your cell company.
You can't go to a shop to get it fixed because they will just have to phone their supplier to get the code to fix it. Thus costing you money and not really doing anything you couldn't do on your own.
The sim card contains all of the phones programming. Without it your phone is a paperweight.

if u have cingular which u prob do cuz of the sim card.. u cant use it with out one.. and if it went threw water damage u can try blowdrying it or lettin it air out.. sim cards are free though but its a hassle puttin all the numbers back into ur phone
