TRUE STORY. ONE time I was depressed, when there was a Fair in town. So, I went to the fair, and picked the scariest ride, The Rocko-Plane. It has a cage you sit in, while you go in a cirle up and down. The cage can ROLL while it's going in the CIRCLE TOO!. I said, hmm, THAT'S IT! I'm gettin on that THING, and I'm gonna HAVE SOME FUUUN!!
When I got in the cage, I let the wheel go around once, and when it picked up speed, I waited for it to get to the 9:00 o'clock position (as it was going from 12:00 TO 9:00 in that direction). When it got to the 9:00, I SLUNG that sucker HARD, and by the time I got to 3:00, I was UPSIDE DOWN! IT SCARED me SOOOOOOO bad, I LOCKED the durn thing, with ME UPSIDE DOWN, the REST of the ride, and ME... SCREAMING my HEAD off!! But, when I got OFF it!! NO PROBLEMS!! NOONE!! Couldn't WALK!! because my FEET were so heavy!! But, I didn't have any depression after that ride!!
Keep in mind, you do not want to do this. I was BLESSED that I DIDN'T THROW the CAGE off the Ferris Wheel!!
You can do something as simple as going for a boat ride, and getting the same affect.
Also, THE BEST thing that worked for ME, was getting my Church family to pray for me. THAT DID MILES of healing for me!! It's kinda like, you can ONLY go about 100 mph on EARTH!! THAT PRAYER for me was like being in a SPACE SHUTTLE in SPACE going 17,000 mph!!!

I take a few minutes to meditate and practice deep breathing exercises. Also doing a physical activity like weight training, or just general conditioning helps as well. Another thing is eating healthy, if I feel sad I will keep my diet to fruits and vegetables, for some reason Fats and Carbohydrates just make me feel worse. Reading can help get my mind off of whatever is bothering me too.

Find something in your life that makes you happy. If you don't have that, then think about something... some goal that you could work for that would improve your life for the better and make you feel as though you can contribute to either yourself, another person, or society as a whole. If your depression as been going on for more than six weeks then perhaps you should start thinking about seeking professional assistance.

I'm pretty sure you answered your own question. Either way, the best thing to do is cope with life one moment at a time and take good care of yourself. For those times when you feel like you can't escape your depression, pray, and talk to people who care about you.

A person should pay attention to how often they are depressed. They should be aware of what is causing the depression. If they are depressed too often, or are unaware of what is causing the depression, they should see a doctor.
there are treatments for depression if it is chronic or interferes with your life or work.
If you know the cause of the depression, you should do what you can to change the situation.
;-D hang in there and take it easy.

sometimes you have to just step back and get out of the life your in if you are unhappy. I go hang with friends, or take a look at other peopls life people that have it a lot worse then me. Drugs, drinks and docters can't help you. you should find somthing that makes you happy and spend time with them

I pray for peace of mind and read the verses in the bible about God's promises. This never fails to snap me out of depression or just a bad mood.

Surround yourself with nice music, beautiful scenery, positive people, comedy videos, just steer clear of negitivity that surrounds your life. If you feel a bad mood coming on, try to think of something nice, or try to understand why your having that bad mood, and most importantly pray, what ever your church is seek your members out for help.

Do things that you enjoy. Go out with friends, see a movie, read a good book, spend time with family. Also, try not to dwell as much on negative things.

I try to force myself into a routine of taking care of myself and my surroundings (get enough sleep, eat right, clean the house), and that keeps me from spiraling farther into depression.
