There's a "balloon-drop" after a huge concert and my team's task (3 people ONLY) is to pop all 2,000 balloons. I know, how boring..

You could hand out hats to all the people there that have needles poking out the top :-)

Heat up the area in which the balloons are contained. I'm not positive that this would work or if it would be possible in your situation. If you heat up the room, the air inside the balloon will expand, eventually causing the balloon to pop. Good luck.

get a long peice of metal and heat the end red hot. go around touching the balloons and i should go pretty quick
OR
Get some knives (the longer the better :-p) and slash away

You won't have to. The crown will do it for you. Put some confetti in each balloon, people will climb over each other to pop them.

needle, quick and easy. If you stab someone, the injure won't be too serious unless you poke at that person's eye. It's kinda save to use.

r there heaters in the room they will pop them or long sticks with tacks glued to the end of them

I WOULD SUGGEST A FLAME THROWER OR SHOTGUN BUT SINCE IT SOUNDS LIKE YOURE DOING THIS INSIDE MIGHT I SUGGEST A WEED EATER, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHREAD THE BALLOONS IN NO TIME.
