Yes. It can majorly be done. Especcialy with Motorola phones, but also with most other phones. With motorola phones, you can turn on and off so many settings. I had a V300, and I went into the brains of it, and turned on the video function, then I changed it so instead of taking 15 second clips of video, I can take 2 or 3 minutes. Its great. Its called SEEM editing. A SEEM is a peice of data taken from your phone, that controls what options you see, and what the phone does.
One thing that you might want to look into, is Flash/Flexing your phone. That is, you take software from a phone from the same compony as the one you have, just a newer phone, with better technology, and you put it on your old phone. Bassicly, it will do everything the new phone can do, except with the shell of the old phone, it is great to do. It can't make the camara any better quality, however it can add many options. You can also make it, so instead of having 6 free megabites to store data, you can have 11. You can do so many things. I can give you some websites and stuff and help you get started if you want. nwahsnwahs018@yahoo.com

depending on the os of the phone. Yes for phones which are Windows Mobile and Symbian based. Motorola keeps its source code under lock and key...so no for them....
