Hi.. Anyone knows of any effective ways to counter warehouse theft? both internal and external thefts.. Thank you!

Cameras are number one. A regular audit of the high dollar inventory items. Make it a routine to do cycle counts on those kinds of items.

Beyond that you are at the mercy of warehouse people. Higher wages attract better people. My experience is that warehouse people are paid pretty poorly.

Often we get what we pay for.

Step up the inventory frequency. Make the subordinates accountable. Section off and secure area in cages. Spend more money on secruity. Give bonuses for clearly established programs to stop theft. What gets measured gets done.

Security staff controls entrance and exits - do spot checks of lunchboxes and baggage going in and out - truck doors are not closed on exit until contents are viewed by security - control removal of trash from building - no access to premises on nights and weekends. The only thing an inventory will tell you is if something is already gone.
