American Greetings has it whereas when you send one of their greetings to someone it auomatically e-mails you back that your greeting had been opened.

I'm not sure about you, but I find this to be a great tool knowing, if or when, someone has checked their mail.

I'm tired of people saying that they didn't open their mail when you know damn well they did. And no; I'm not getting parinoid. How about when it's business. When someone is working for you, not getting things done, and using this as an excuse. It's enough to piss you off! I know I'm not alone with...

Does anyone feel my pain???

Or how about someone you know that never - ever turns their phone off tells you that their batteries must be dead or they had it turned off!

And don't even write in and say I should hire someone else. I'm talking in general for everybodys benefit.

And off the subject, but isn't it annoying that this section doesn't have spell check

Today: not LOL, just list me simply as annoyed!

To follow up what the other user said. Most email programs can put a read receipt request in the email. In Outlook Express you can put in an read request where as in regular Outlook you can put in a read and or delivery request. Please note that it is entirely optional for read request email to be sent back to you. As in first the email program is going to send you an email back, but not before checking with the user and some email programs might just ignore it all together. The delivery request is basically asking the ISP to send an email back when the user picks up the email and that again is up to their policy, and I would think most would just ignore it.

So in Outlook express when you start a new email select Tools -> Request Read Receipt

In regular Outlook on a new email select Options...
And you can select the options for requesting these.

P.S. I don't know about posting a question since I have never done it, but when answering a question there is a "Check Spelling" link right above the box for putting in your message.

Use Microsoft Outlook. It has the feature you're looking for. You can get a email receipt when the recipient opens your email.
