It's a horizontal line, so its slope is zero.

The equation is y = 3

I don't know what the other people are talking about - if it was a vertical line, it would be undefined, but then the x-coordinates would be the same, not the y-coordinates.

Slope is calculated by taking the difference in Y-axis points and dividing it by the difference in X-axis points. In your case, it comes out to 0.

But you don't even need to calculate the slope here to know how the line looks. Why not? Because both cross the Y-axis at 3. This means it has to be a straight line. The only other way to hit the same point on an axis is to draw a looping line, which isn't one of your choices.

Now the question becomes, "Is the line horizontal or vertical?" The answer to this lies on which axis has the same points.

In this case, you have 2 Y-axis points that are the same (3), so it has to be going left and right, which makes it a horizontal line.

Your slope is on the origin.

slope = (y1-y2)/(x1-x2)
=(3-3)/(5-2)
=0/3
=0

Seeing that your y value is equaled to 0, your x value does have a 3. All in all, you can put horizontal OR origin because it's on the same axis.

Another case would be undefined because it is not a function. If you plotted the points on a graph, it would not pass the vertical line test. Therefore, not a function.

Horizontal line, slope zero kiddo. You placed your question in a mistaken category, should be in elementary or perhaps junior high, not higher education, but then perhaps you did not make a mistake and it's just that your brain and/or ego is over inflated.

This is an horizontal line.
y = mx + b
y will always equal 3
b is 3
m (slope) = 0
x is variable
