Me and my friend disagree on which story is actually true in the novel Life of Pi. I know it is a true story, but do you think that Pi was stuck in the boat with his mom, the sailor and the cook, or with the bengal tiger? PLEASE HELP

Great question. The answer tells you a lot about someone's personality. Spiritual vs. Rational. For me? Pi was stuck on that lifeboat with a Tiger named Richard Parker. There is no right answer.

It was not a true story; however, he did get the idea from a Brazilian writer and credited him in the notes.

It all depends on what kind of person you are. You see the Bible is filled with stories that are unbelievable too. Do you beleive in the bible. It is more reasonable to believe that the story without the animals is true. But those that can believe in the bible can also believe that the animal story is true and definitely more entertaining. You are able to get more from the animal story just like people who read the bible. Are you getting the connection? The book is spiritual. I could keep going on, but I hope your mind is expanding now.

News to me that it was a true story. Both stories are equally outlandish. It's a good book, and the story you believe depends on what you want to believe about humanity. The only thing that we know for sure about Pi is that he is telling his story. The rest is all open to interpretation.
