Only society says it wrong thus society writes laws to try to impose their standards. Other than that, in my opinion and search I find no other place such is restricted.
While it is true some religious orders seem to think their books or guide declare such to be wrong, I do not find such in the books I have read. I have read the Bible over 100 times cover to cover and there are only two restrictions. One is to obey the law of the land, and the other is don't aspire to be a Bishop or Deacon if you have two wives. I am of the opinion those so called Christians don't really read their own book for God Himself placed no such restriction.
In conclusion I would suggest that both you and your first wife do agree on the second one to avoid conflicts, but even so I am sure they will come. Thus it is a personal choice in my view and between your and your God.
You think about this, "when is one married or when does one have a wife"? Is it only after the ceremony as society says or is it an affair or agreement between two parties? If an agreement, I bet a lot of individuals do have two wives and others just do not know about it. Here in the Philippines a second wife is illegal, so she is called a concubine only. Thus legally she has no status as a wife and the man can be charged with adultery because of social laws but it seldom happens as long as the first wife is supported well or is not aware of the laws.
Just think about it, smile, and have a good day.

It may not seem wrong to some people, but it is just dumb. Some smart man realized women are crazy half of every month and decided he would help all men from having to deal with 7 wives and 20 daughters with PMS by illegalizing polygamy. It is cheaper and easier to just cheat. However, wrap that pecker up!
No, I do not advocating cheating, but hey, if you're gonna, just be careful. If you think PMS is bad...see what happens when you cheat and get caught by ONE wife!!

But, I know lots of guys with...oh, you mean at the *same time*! Well, it does lessen the importance of the woman, doesn't it?
Also since the ratio of men to women in humans is roughly equal, this suggests a one-to-one arrangement is most natural for us.
If nothing else, what about the poor schmuck who won't find a wife because you've got his?

Maybe because it meant to protect women from abuses. A man who fathered children to more than one wife and live the nurturing to the latter wouldn't be fair treatment.

If you had like 10 wives and they all got their periods at different times of the month, then there would always be a crazy ***** in your face on PMS. Who the **** would want that?

You would love one more than the other and that would cause bad feelings between the wives. It just wasn't meant to be that way.

Yes, most men can hardly handle one. It would be confusing to the children and expensive and there could be jealousy.

One wife is enough, one set of inlaws is enough, one weekend for shoe shopping is enough, one person with a slightly different viewpoint on things is enough, one person asking 'does my *** look big in this?' is enough......getting the picture?

It's illegal in the US, so that's why it's wrong there. If you live in Saudi Arabia, go ahead. As long as everyone's happy.
