Like them both but no comparison. First of all the Monkees were created for marketing. The Beatles were friends and started their own band. They were able to grow as individuals and changed their music as they grew and changed as a group. How many times a day do you hear the beatles being played vs the the number times you hear the Beatles. I think historically the Beatles had a much HUGER impact on society than the monkees did. (I was in love with Peter Tork and Davy Jones as a child.. but that does not influence my feelings today..lol) I am willing to look at the big picture. And the idea that only 1/2 of them are alive today is tragic. They NEVER will be able to play together as buddies like they did when they first started out. Very Sad.

The Beatles, obviously. They were not manufactured like the Monkees. The Beatles' music developed over time, and changed. All of the Monkees' music sounds the same. They didn't grow or expand creatively.

The Monkees were fun and Mike Nesmith was very creative with his music and humor but they didn't come close to the Beatles. The Monkees were put together to create a tv show.

I love the Monkees, but the Beatles are definitely the winners here. I mean, come on! Blue Jay Way, Helter Skelter, Hey Jude...I could go on all night.

The Monkees werent even a real band, but som good songs did come out of their existance

You can like whomever you please, the monkees could not even carry the Beatles' music sheet or cd case.
