As a fat chick myself - I think that for a long time those two words have gone together synonymously - fat & ugly. Of course I don't agree with that. But the stigma is what breeds the belief. But I also don't believe so much in the --it's what's on the inside -- yes that is true but as far as attraction - there has to be something to spark the chemistry - so you can't see someone's personalilty from across the room. It's a tricky line and how fat is too fat is subjective and in the general population most people will say that fat is ugly. The money the diet industry makes supports that fact. But I will say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So that is my 2 cents.

I find that when I am at home with my kids I think fat is okay, and feel that I am fine like I am. Then I go outside, or my husband makes a comment about obesity being ugly, and I start to feel bad about myself again.

Fat is not the best thing in the world, but I would rather be fat than be a tramp. Atleast I have modesty with my big self.

Okay...to be honest...I think it has to do with the person. If the person feels ashamed to be fat, it shows not only to them but to everyone, and it makes the person look ugly, even if they look their best. Case in point: Chris Farley, Carnie Wilson (before the surgery). If the person realizes that they will never be thin and is fine with that, then rocks the best of what they have, that makes them look bold because they don't fit the mold, and beautiful, because it's not common. Case in point: M'onique, Queen Latifah.

Nope I don't. I know many people who are overweight and they are all beautiful and wonderful people. I believe that if people would truly judge people on how they are on the inside instead of only seeing their physical aspects everyone involved would be happier. My little brother is considered "chubby" by many of his classmates and it breaks my heart to see him come home everyday downhearted by some of the remarks he has endured. skinny, fat, ugly, pretty or whatever a person may be, he/she should be considerate to others no matter what they look like. Its true that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but the world will never get that.

Are you referring to fat, the substance that grows in mass in people who are overweight, or are you referring to the presence of the substance on those people? I've seen fat that has been lipsuctioned out of a person; I don't think anyone would find that attractive. As far as a person being overweight, the truly unattractive part of it is that some people let everything go and don't try to look their best when they are overweight. I think Mo'nique is beautiful; Starr Jones used to be.

i think that is an ugly question. not that youre implying it to be mean but that it should even be an issue at all. some people are very self conscious about their weight and think that because theyre fat that that makes them ugly-this is not true. the only thing ugly is when someone believes their ugly when theyre not.

No, I have a lot of overweight friends and they might as well be the most beautiful people in the world cuz they act like it :) and people who only care about weight in other people should be slapped by the boogeyman :D

I don't want to say it's ugly. But I just think it's sad that people can't take care of themselves.
