The best years of the Simpsons are some of the best TV ever (ie the first 5 or so years of the show)....now it has been on so long that it has different 'eras'. It used to be realistic and kind of touching and had 'wit'...now it is pretty much silly humor but without the edge of Family Guy or South Park type shows.
If you are talking about current episodes I would have to give the vote to Family Guy.

The Simpsons is way better than Family Guy. They have been around longer, their characters are better, and they have much better writers. Family Guy is pretty much stealing what the Simpsons' has been doing successfully for years.

WOW that's really difficult. I love them both but I think Family Guy is more enjoyable to me now, maybe Simpsons have been on to long, and Family Guy has more of an adult humor. They are both very clever shows.

family guy rules over simpsons just with stewie. he pulverizes the simpsons with sharpened candy canes. plus they are more like the real family of today, and more problems of todays family, not all though, todays family doesnt have their own house as a country.

hm...tough. i love both shows. but simpsons make fun of americans and our silly traditions that we do without thinking. i love how they parody everything in the american lifestyle as well as politics.
i like family guy cause its just outrageous. and its become my recent favorite, becasue i've seen every simpsons episode. but peter really bugs me, well so does homer. i guess they both need central stupid and annoying characters to bring in the masses.
so my vote goes to simpsons overall!!

I would choose The Simpsons, because it has always been funny.
I tried watching that other one a few times.....but i didn't find it funny at all.
