And ENTIRE FULL GALLON of laundry detergent spilled onto my laundry room floor. How do I clean it up? It's like all gooey and covering the wood laminate floor. Very concentrated, so I think even after I clean it up, the floor will be slippery w/residue.

Use kitty litter to absorb the spill, scoop it up with a dustpan and dispose. THEN, use a solution of one cup white vinegar to one gallon water to rinse the area. Repeat until no residue is left.

You might try cat litter in a small area and see if it will soak up the detergent. My husband uses cat litter to clean up spills in the garage all of the time. I doubt that the cat litter will hurt the floor and if it works it will be much easier to clean up and will leave less residue to try and mop up

Get a sqeegee and clean up as much as you can with that and when you get as much up without diluting it then you must wash the laminate floor with WATER ONLY, ONLY WATER until it is clear water and there is no suds left in the water. U have a real job ahead of you. Wipe up the last of it before you start mopping with paper towels and throw in trash. What a mess, bless your heart!

I would suggest to get a mop and a bucket of water..and clean your floor a couple of times.
You could also take baking soda and pour it on the liquid and let it soak it up...baking soda is a cleaning agent as well, I use it on just about everything.
You are still gonna need to re-mop your floor a couple of times to get the residue off the floor.
good luck

Sponge mop and a bucket. Suck up as much as you can with the mop and squeeze it into the bucket or a sink. Do not use water, you'll just create a suds mess. After you got most of it up, use paper towels. Let dry for a while then damp mop with hot water untill it's all gone.

Try using the water hose and a spray nozzle. Put it on the highest pressure and spray toward the drain. May take several tries but it beats using the mop.

I DID THAT!!! I found that the best result was with two good dust pans - scooping the detergent and pouring it into a bucket, then pouring that (via funnel) back into the original container. BOOO!!! I found myself saddened - wishing i could have used it for SOMEthing afterall... i hated to see it all go to waste!

Pour cornmeal on it. Cornmeal is very absorbent . Let sit until it is wet. Thenswepp it up. If soap still there apply again. Conmeal is non-toxoc and won't spread the soap around like water would.

you first have to get as much up as possible by scooping it up, like with a dustpan or small scoop, or small shovel
(whatever you have). then use old towels to wipe up as much as possible, then wash up the rest with wet towels, rinsing and wringing them frequently. you could also maybe use a shop vac to get up a lot of it first. good luck and be patient.if you get it all up, the floor will not be slippery.
