Everyone's different. Salicylic acid does not work for me. I was treated by a dermatologist for 10 months and spent a fortune. Nothing worked. I have never tried anything that works any better than benzoyl peroxide. (Oxy-10). Also, be aware that what looks like a pimple may not be. I have had what appeared to be pimples respond only to anti-fungal cream (as in yeast infection cream or athlete’s foot cream!) Obviously that wasn’t acne. Also, I had a pre-cancerous spot that looked like a small pink blemish. It wasn’t huge or black or any other thing they always tell you to look for in skin cancer. The only thing that made me see the dermatologist was that it wouldn’t go away. He actually DID get rid of that for me. Some natural things that may help: ALA (also puffiness, redness, and scars), DMAE, glutathione, exercise, sleep; Astragalus, Ligustrum, Myrrh, Licorice (also redness), Rosehips, Goldenseal, Turmeric, Burdock, Zinc, Niacinamide (topical), Tea tree oil (topical), Guggul, Patothenic acid, Vitamin A, Vitamin E (800—1200 IU), Vitamin B6, Vitex (when premenstrual), Salicylic Acid (viola), Selenium (for adult acne), rubbing alcohol, L-Ascorbic Acid, Bioperine (black pepper), Coenzyme Q10, honey & a band-aid, acidophilus, NO SUGAR! Calendula & Echinacea speed healing. Acne and rosacea are two external signs of dysbiosis (not enough probiotics) and both of these can benefit from a daily dose of probiotics — in food or supplement form.

1 - exfoliate (St. Ives Apricot Scrub is good)
2 - get a good acne wash w/ Salicylic (sp?) acid
3 - use only oil-free makeup, or none at all
4 - drink lots of water

If these don't work, you should definitely go to a dermatologist. I had HORRIBLE acne as a teenager, and they put me on Acutane. Pretty extreme stuff, but it was the only thing that worked, and I'm so grateful to have clear skin.

How old are you? If you are in the middle of puberty you are pretty much at the mercy of your hormones. Sorry, we all had to do our time! I use Garnier Pure facial soap and moisturizer. The moisturizer has medicine to help stop break outs. It tightens pores and is really gentle so it wont irritate your skin. They are under 10 bucks and well worth it. It sure has helped tame the break outs for me. Good luck!

dont use astringint products because they just dry out your skin and it makes the problem worse by leaving pores open. if you cant affod the expensive products like proacitve try using dove and the good moistuizer. keeping the face clean keeps bacteria away. bacteria is a big cause of break outs.. if nothing helps see a dermatologist.

by the way, a girl in my office saw one and he recommended mary kay products. not into selling products online. these are just what they recommended.

You could try Serious Skin Care's Glycolic Cleanser & their A-Copper cream, Unplugged Spray & A-Copper Serum (you can get those three in a kit. They work really good without drying your skin. They also have Continously Clear in that line too for acne, in case you need something a little stronger, you can get try me kits for @ $20 in that. They are all sold on HSN.
