I love Sophie Kinsella's books. I crack up out loud when I read them. Bridget Jones' Diary and Bridget Jones, The Edge of Reason by Helen Fielding are also really funny. Carrie Pilby by Caren Lissner is also good.

I'm a bookstore manager, and I definitely agree with the others that said Jennifer Weiner and Marian Keyes, who are my two favorite chick lit authors. Weiner's Good in Bed and Keyes's Rachel's Holiday are my absolute favorites.
Jodi Picoult is also another favorite female author, as well as Amy Tan and Anita Shreve.
