The fastest people can run one mile under 4 minutes. Those are the olympians. For girls in Middle school, you'll probably run around 7 minutes, high school is around like 5 or 6 minutes....and so on.

The average person or a world record athlete? The record is something like 3:50, which is pretty darn fast. The average person takes 5 or 6 minutes to run a mile, if they're in good shape. For some it takes ten minutes.
It depends very much on conditioning, training,age, weight and general health.

a normal adult walks about 3 miles per hour... so.. that is 20 minutes per mile.. walking...

the fastest runners can run a mile in a little under 4 minutes.. so...

I guess most people would take between 4 minutes and 20 minutes to run a mile... quite a large difference in abilities!! and.. that is not taking into consideration those who are not normal in some manner!!
