A tampon can only go up so far because your cervix will block it from going to any further. You should be able to feel it with your finger ( I am not trying to be gross) If it is there go to the ER right away or you could develop Toxic shock syndrome and it can kill you.

it happens all the time. I worked in an emergency room many years ago and women came in thinking they lost a tampon. The majority of the time there was nothing there. Get yourself checked with a doctor if in doubt...

If you've left one in there, you'll get a very foul odor in the next couple of days. Trust me, there's no mistaking the odor... and you should have it removed right away.

also never put a tampon in until you are actuallt bleeding this can cause an infection. use a thin pad until you begin to bleed fully. when in doubt call the doctor

Might sound gross but if there is one up there, you may not be able to get it out yourself but you should probably be able to feel it and then you would at least know what to tell teh doctor at your appt.
