You're gay if you derive both emotional AND physical satisfaction from members of the same sex. Even if you have NO same sex experiences, you still feel an attraction, and a sense of more intense comradarie with your friends of the same sex. The things to consider when determining your sexuality are whether or not you feel particular desires no matter how you feel about them. Straights are unconditionally attracted to members of the opposite sex whether they want to be or not, though few straight people will overtly state this since few straight people will ever say that they DON'T want to be straight. Bisexuals have the ability to feel an attraction and desire for members of BOTH sexes; and homosexuals (gays or lesbians) are unconditionally attracted to members of the same sex, regardless of whether or not they WANT to be that way.

You know yourself better than I know you. You know what your desires are. Pulling away from a girlfriend doesn't necessarily mean you're gay. It could mean that you're ultimately interested in ANOTHER girl/woman. But if you are questioning whether you are gay or not then before deciding what you are...spend a bit of time getting to know yourself. Think about your desires, your ambitions as far as relationships go, and then do what you can (without hurting anyone, including yourself) to achieve those romantic goals. The key thing though, is to be honest, at least with yourself.

You don't say how old you are but if you are under 20 you may well still be exploring a lot of questions about sexuality. Try to determine what makes you feel good about yourself. Look at positive role models, both gay and straight. Don't let anyone make you determine the course of the rest of your life based on one reaction.
And don't pay attention to stereotypes. Your real friends (even girlfriends) are with you no matter what road you find yourself on.

i dont believe in gay , people who are gay are in need of counseling , you may just have issues of getting close did you grow up in a stable home ? did you mom hug kiss and say i love you often? were you abused? have you seen or had an experience with a man? were you molested? i thought at one point as a teen i was gay because i was molested , i had no dad growing up and was beaten by a stepdad i was afraid of men and felt secure with women. when i dealt with the cause i was able to fix the problem. find you cause of why you cant get close with this girl , maybe she aint for you.

You know it if you look at a guy like you would at a girl. Gayness isn't something that grows inside of you until you finally "notice" it. It's your choice. You could wake up one day and say "I think I'll be gay." The decision rests entirely in your hands.
