It depends on specifically what a given person is credulous about. For instance, I suspect that people seven thousand years ago had a much higher standard of proof then we do when it came to dealing with nature, or trusting other humans, but a much lower standard of proof in regards to physics or information relating to unexplored parts of the world. In a very generalized way, I'd say that people nowadays are certainly less credulous then in ancient times, for the simple reason that individuals tend to be more skeptical and academic in comfortable, open societies. Aside from that, a person could argue that the surge of new technology over the last couple of centuries has been directly related to a general increase in the standard of proof, made possible by economic advancements. That is, more or less, what the Enlightenment was.

Less. Sometimes it feels that there are less mysteries in the world. We have learned to rationalise belief and faith is easily destroyed.

I don't know, the world today is different than what it was 7000 years ago. Then it was easier to believe and faith was what kept you going... In general, life was harder for most people. The comfortable were few and far between, so believing in anything that was greater than oneself was more necessary then.
