If it is a diesel it can be converted for a fee to run on used cooking oil. I saw it on tv. If I owned a diesel I would do this in a heartbeat. Check it out.

Our Kroger offers as much as 50 cents per gallon off gas if you spend a certain amount at their grocery stores.
Someone suggested a hybrid but that will not necessarily save you money. I bought a Honda Civic 18 months ago for $14,000. It gets about 32 MPG. The first year I owned it I drove 8,400 miles and used 260 gallons of gas which cost me $588. Had I bought the hybrid Civic which is supposed to get 40 MPG I would have saved only $118 on gas. But the hybrid cost about $7,000 more than my car. That's 59 times what my annual gas savings would have been. So unless you drive a lot more miles than I do and/or the price of gasoline gets a lot higher the hybrid does not yet make financial sense. Even if I had driven 20,000 miles and paid $3 per gallon the annual savings would only be $375 and it would have taken 19 years to break even (not counting the time value of the money). Even 30,000 miles at $4 per gallon makes the break even period over 9 years, again ignoring the time value of the money.
Driving 12,000 miles per year gasoline would have to be somewhere around $12.50 per gallon for it to have made sense for me to pay a $7,000 premium for a hybrid version of my Civic.
So before you buy a hybrid, do the math.

if you are on the freeway drive at 60mph
pump your tires up to the maximum on the sidewall (not the sticker in the door)
make sure your airfilter is clean and you have good spark plugs
avoid jack rabbit starts
dont let the car idle to warm up, drive slowly until it does
other than that , thats it....by the way...i have a miata (34mpg) and a jeep liberty (20mpg) i live 20 miles away from work, at 3 bucks a gallon over the course of a year i wouldnt even save 400 bucks a year if i drove the miata everyday, but that car is uncomfortable to drive ery day

not one of the aftermarket instruments artwork. in the journey that they did, they could have come from the generating unit. do not waste you money. power sluggish. 5 lower than the speed reduce, max of 60 on the line. accelerate gently, and start up slowing down way purely before time. Inflate your tires to the max rigidity counseled on the sidewall or the doorjam. keep your air and gasoline filters sparkling. keep up on your upkeep. keep your utilising to a minimum. Yeah, i understand maximum of which could no longer any interesting once you're 16. ;) Sorry.

There is a site that advises the use of acetone with the gas:
http://www.lubedev.com/smartgas/
There are several people who have their testimonials on the site. I have never tried it and have never spoken with anyone who has tried it.
The green jelly beans are just a rip off. Consumer Reports and the government have tested them thoroughly and found no better gas milage along with several other devices and potions.

Try to decrease your driving. Carpool. Don't run the A/C...keep the oil changed, and tires properly inflated.
