The "Second Law of Thermodynamics" as defined in the usual textbooks, is false.

One example is controlled thermonuclear fusion (which has yet to be sustained sufficiently for an energy source -- the sun is "uncontrolled" thermonuclear fusion). Fusion uses heavy water (deuterium) as a fuel, and, in devices like the Tokamak reactor (Russian design), which is shaped as a huge torus, uses powerful magnetic fields and laser energy, to compress the atom. There is more energy output from the reaction, than went into it.

Another example, is the human race itself. If energy were truly limited, mankind would have never developed. Man's mind / creativity creates new resources and sources of energy, that increase the energy flux density, and allows for increasing numbers of people, living at higher standards of living, to dwell on the planet.

Not in a closed system. I can reduce the entropy of some target matter, but the entropy of the entire universe is always increasing.

There is speculation that this may reverse if the universe begins contracting, but that's weird quantum physics stuff that is probably beyond the scope of what you are asking.

Yes. It is a very complex process called Thermal Macrorevisionism or jokingingly referred to as 'Outtrophy'.

It is very dangerous and most scientists will not touch it with a ten foot pole.
