Animals talk to each other using their own communicative skills through voice and body movements. They can speak through each other like barking for dogs and neighing for horse. Others could communicate through bodily movements like the insects such as ants bumping to each other.

Of course they can-animals have a wider vocabulary than we do for its very direct no double talk. All of their sounds mean something and so does the body language. My rabbit isn't too vocal but if she wants my attention she'll nudge me first then she'll gently nip me. My cat whenever I come home does a lot of meowing and rubbing up against me-she's saying she's happy to see me,rubbing up against me is her expressing affection towards me and by the way she meows until I acknowledge her. When two cats pass each other or one may have just woke up from a nap they'll briefly touch noses and rub against each otr-saying hey hows it going and rubbing each other again being affectionate. All living things communicate just have different ways to do it. We as humans have words which animals don't have but they definitely talk we just have to pay attention to them and learn their ways.

Some animals can, but have limited vocabularies. Prairie dogs have a variety of sounds, and bees dance to communicate. Dolphins and whales speak, and gorillas can be taught to use some sign language. And then there are other animals that have only a couple of words like dogs. They only have grr and bark.

Yes, Maybe not with sound but through body language and such..Watch two dogs meeting for the first time..They displlay all sorts of signs to each other...Cats flatten their ears, Hiss or either show an interest, the other cat respondsacorrindly, Horses blow into eaxh others nostrils to get each others scent...You can learn alot about them by just sitting back and watching...You learn what their movements mean..Its interesting to me! Great Question..I give you 100points!

Of course they can. They're pretty effective communicators with humans, so of course they speak to each other. A lot of animal communication is silent so we just can't quite "get it". *LOL*

Watch any mother animal with her babies and you'll have no doubt. And then the next time your dog or cat wants something from you, and you have no doubt about what to do, think about it. *LOL*

They do. They comunicate with body language and vocalizations. Birds use songs for mating calls, and most animals use mating rituals. Some monkeys even warn eachother when there is danger. They probably think about food alot...

they don't use human language, but they can DEFINITELY communicate with each other.

have you heard about the chimps at Yerkes that learned human sign language? Really. Washoe (sp ?) was/is the most famous.

anyway, one of the chimps had learned human sign language, and as i recall, saw something dangerous ( a snake, maybe) and tried to tell the other chimps in sign language.

The chimp giving the warning kept trying to communicate in sign language to the other chimps, and only after a while did he/she go back to a standard chimp warning yell.

It's fascinating research. most of it is humane.

Yes I always use the mother cat call to convince stray kittens to come out of hiding...I learned how to mimick it by listening to how mother cats "talk" to thier kittens. I can perfectly mimick any cat call, its a strange talent I have and I used to impress skeptical people by sitting on a sidewalk in the city and doing the "mother cat call" and the "female in heat call" they believed when lots of random cats started coming to me out of nowhere...truly if you listen you can learn to understand what calls animals use to communicate with one another. I know...I am the Cat caller...lol

Yes, I do. I was watching a stray meowing horribly around our tree and here comes her little kittens, bounding across the yard. The kittens loved their mom's head, then laid down beside her; it was so cute.
