Why do you think US support Isreal?

I think Arabs should accept Isreal identity by now. Why do they hate Isreal so much and so what. They should live in peace now.
personally I like isreals more than arabs because they are more civilized.

You have to understand what this is all really about.

This is about the partitioning of Isreal after WWII in 1947. A nation was carved out of Palestine and given to the Jewish people as their homeland. Their was a lot of guilt over the suffering imposed on the Jewish people through Hitler's terrible slaughter of them and as victors, the allies saw their opportunity to set things right.

So they plunked this nation right in the middle of the Arab people and those who saw this as Palestine saw their homeland taken from them.

While I personally feel there was great justification for all this, I'm not sure that, even today, this makes sense to those of Arabic descent.

Regardless of how modern Arab governments try to come to terms with this and formally recognize Isreal's right to exist, there are many many Arabic factions that cannot abide this.

This is why, no matter what Isreal does in terms of trying to make peace, vacating the West Bank and Gaza, leaving Lebanon and other such actions, there will be Arabic factions that continuing to pursue the elimination of Isreal from the Middle East.

As for the U.S., we helped create all this in 1947-48 and swore our allegience to them. They have been good allies for us and we in turn have been good allies to them. And let's not forget the millions of Jewish people living here in the USA that continue supporting Isreal through their money and through our politicians.

Well the Arabic world isn't so fond of Jews and to top it off we went in there a few decades ago and carved out a Jewish homeland and that really pissed them off. Keep in mind we are talking about a culture that believes in harboring feuds and grudges for hundreds of years.

The US supports Israel because 1. if we didn't, their neighbors would wipe them off the face of the Earth and 2. They are a thriving democracy, a rare thing in the Middle East. And if there is one thing the Arabic world hates almost as much Jews it's democracy. 3. Well it's the right thing to do, after all... how many times can the Jew's survive genocide?

As for anyone living in peace in the middle east... not gonna happen anytime soon.

We support isreal because they have supported us in the past when we had trouble with Iran, and other arab nations. I believe there will never be peace there. The situation over there shows how damaging religious beliefs are to the human race.

Biblically speaking, it is to the advantage of any country or person to bless Israel because God has promised that He would bless those who bless Israel. So, i guess it's a pretty smart move by the Americans to do that.

Israel does have a "special" status - it's obvious from the fact that they have been able to survive...no, thrive as the only non-muslim country in the region.

I do support their right to exist - all the wars they fought have never been initiated by them. They do have a right to defend themselves.

However, I DO NOT think the Israelis are more civilised than the Arabs, or vice-versa.

the arabs wont rest untill they destroy all jews, they feel it is the will of allah , also it says in the koran that jews are swine, the discontent has gone back al the way to abraham when he sinned by not believing his wife sarah an old woman would concieve a child who will be the father of a nation so abraham took her maid and she concieved him a son ishmael , when isaak was born god told abraham to send him away but he would make a nation out of ishmael also and they would be a constant thorn in the side of isreal because of abrahams sin. the arabs like to think they are the blessed seed of abraham and that is why they hate the jews.the us supports isreal to make sure that the holocost NEVER happens again! the jews need a place to be safe.

Because Israel is the only country in the Middle East that the world considers SANE. They don't support terrorists and have a similar government and similar views that the US has. The Arabs are embarrased that Israel is more powerful militarily than they are and because they are the only non-muslim country in the middle east.

We are at fault for the position they are in.

We are the ones who convinced them to leave their occupation of Lebanon in the first place.

We are the ones that convinced them to leave their occupation of the west bank in the first place.

Now these area's have been taken over by WAR MONGERS (Hezbollah) who have dedicated there lives to destroying Israel.
and don't know how to read the Hebrew bible.

Today Hezbollah even said the US is next on their list.

You are right, Israel is definitely more civilized than those animals that HIDE BEHIND WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

Regardless of what the U.S. administration says, it all comes down to religion. Obviously Bush is a strong Christian, or so he claims to be.

Anyhoo, Israel is the biggest U.S. middle-east ally. Without Israel, they wouldn't have any support and impact in that neck of the planet, and Israel heavily relies on the support of the U.S.
History has consistently shown that.

I like Israel as well, but a part of me questions that this is politically motivated.
