ever tried shift work? How about your co-workers do they suck?

I am a cashier at Wal-Mart and I can honestly say that I HATE MY JOB!!!!! I don't actually hate the work I do, I hate the crap that I have to put up with. Between the customers and my bosses, I go home ready to cry every night. I've been looking for a new job since I started this job more than a year ago but the town I live in is so small that Wal-Mart is the only place to work. They've driven out all the smaller retailers in the area. I don't make enough money to live on as it is so I can't just pack up and move to a different town where Wal-Mart doesn't rule the universe. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, lemme tell ya. Wal-Mart stands for everything that is soulless and wrong.

I hate shift work. I am now at a full time first shift job. I like the work. I have an office position, but also do physical work so I don't get bored. I like most all of my co-workers. The pay sucks.

Some co-workers ALWAYS suck. Nothing you can do about that.
Shift work is good because we are not yet a 24 hour society (post office at 2am?) so you can accomplish tasks during the day while other schmoes are working, and it's less crowded.

I like the work I do, but I could do without the co-workers. Its like a gossip factory. Not to mention that "top dog" is a butt hole. But I am thankful that I have a job.

I love my job, I work with toddlers. I really dont enjoy my co-worker that I have to interact with the most.

I don't work, but my mom's job sucks.
Everyday she comes home and bitches about it.
Like the owners or bosses or whatever are very greedy and selfish. They don't give their employees like any holidays except for christmas day. And the owners like do whatever the hell they want and don't take a moments notice about what their employees are doing or how they're doing.
And they don't pay my mom enough.

The recent job i had sucked. if someone called in you would have to stay there 4-8 hours more. if you refused they fired you. some coworkers were cool just the bosses higher rank you know.

I love it. No day is ever the same because I work with kids. I get paid decently as an intern, I get all holidays off, and I get summer vacation. Can't beat that.

I don't hate it but I don't love it. It pays the bills and is pretty much stress free. It's corporate so sometimes the whole "power" trips people (partners) get can be a drag. Otherwise I like it.

i worked on shift basis before, the working hours was horrible but my colleague are OK. the worst thing was, i cant join my friends to go for happy hour and always missed the x'mas eve dinner due to evening shift assignment.
