I'm sensing some hostility with these responses, so I would like to clear things up...

I am in full support of Israel. I constructed the question this way so I could get decent answers from both sides of the aisle.

In response to John J, I will not pollute my peace pipe with UN nonsense. Screw the UN.

I would also like to say that I don't think it's possible to avoid a war centered around Israel. It's land that is claimed to be the holy land of more than one religion.

No I do not. Hezbollah's main goal is the destruction of Israel, then after that the USA.

They are supported by Iran which has the same goals in mind.

The way I see it they are taking care of this so we don't have to.

Lebanon should have given them the boot years ago, but did not, now they are paying the price.

Yes because it will give them an excuse to bomb the heck out of Lebanon. The Jewish government always reacts in a heavy handed way to show their strength. It is only now beginning to backfire as the Arabs are getting stronger and stronger. I don't feel that protecting the Israeli country is worth world war 3. The leaders of the world need to step in and make some decision to satisfy both sides or war will be unstoppable. Ms. Rice is to visit the area soon but the Israeli government has asked the US to stay out of the problem for about 10 days. You know what is going to happen in those 10 days and it won't be good for Lebanon or what is left of it. Now when the Jews do this it is in retaliation for terrorist attacks. I ask you, who is the terrorist here?

Hmm... present day history ring any bells? because did not they in basic terms do this many years in the past? besides, i'm a touch cynical even as the purely source quoted source for the decision and numbers of those 'lengthy decision' missiles (because it really is not lengthy decision, that is medium) is an IDF Brigadier time-honored. it really is in his pastime to strengthen the possibility. That way even as Hezbollah lob missiles into Israel (which they really will) he's already prevalent the mandate for rolling all the way as a lot as Beirut. And curiously they could ought to invade via UN gadgets; i ask your self how which could bypass down with Israel's common allies?

what do YOU think??? Hezbollah is based in southern Lebanon, Now they are bombing Beirut.
they bombed ALL the airports , Bridges, highways, electricity stations, Water stations, Gas stations.
they bombed civilian homes entire buildings went down in rubble.
they bombed civilian cars and vans ( people trying to flee the war )
mostly women and children.
he latest deaths brought to more than 300 the number of Lebanese killed by the more than 1,000 Israelis raids launched since the assault began on July 12. The vast majority of the dead were civilians. More than 1,000 have been injured.

it seems that the life of 1 Israeli soldier is worth 2000 Lebanese!

that's unacceptable to me.

Yes. Just like we overreacted to Pearl Harbor. Sheesh! Why do I need to support an answer to a question that is predicated on the idea that a nation has no right to defend itself? But my support, if you must know, comes from my belief that all people have the basic human right to defend themselves. Put that in your UN peace pipe and smoke it.

no..I don't believe Israel over-reacting...they are on guard..always has to be on guard ..since they have their land..
Israel was attacked..when she was only one day old, in 1948 , 15 May...by 7 Arab countries ( Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi, Iraq, Yemen}
Attacked again in 1956, 1967, 1968 & 1973....so they couln't risk another attack..the Arabs always try to get rid of Israel..in one way or other...
