I really don't like Superman, I think he's really overrated, I don't see what the big deal with him is. Anyone else know what I mean?

i loathe superman.
he's too powerful. there's really no conflict as you know hes going to win reguardless because he is so over powered.
fact is if someone had superman's powers he would be an unchallenged dictator.
"blah blah blah kryptonite blah blah blah"....he could fly into the upper stratosphere and blast anyone who had it with his eyes....in later issues superman lobotomized a villain combining his x-ray and heat vision powers. that being said how much of that stuff (kryptocrap) is hanging around at any given time certainly not enough to pose any real threat. so if you had kryptonite, you couldnt hide it from him, or pull it out fast enough to wield it against him in any real situation.
thats why his strongest badguys are usually from another world/dimension and are even more grossly over powered than he is.
i hate superman.

It's not that I don't like Superman, its that I find nothing to relate to in him. How many times have you been able to relate to a person whose only weakness is a rock? He may be cool and unbeatable but he lacks the depth of characters like Spiderman and Wolverine. Many times it almost seems pointless to read his comics, he's invulnerable! Where it is similair w/ Wolvie, he a least has a killer instinct with a dark past that comes back to haunt him. Superman is the first modern superhero which is the main reason he's so popular, he defined the genre. Try as he might, it's hard to break into the new audiences with such a history, but by that same history he can't go away.

He gets dull, sometimes, because you know he's always going to win. But he was the first, and still is the greatest. You gotta feel sorry for the guy. Every time he uses his powers, he has to be thinking, If only Krypton hadn't blown up, I'd have my parents who loved me....
One of my favorite covers is from the sixties and it shows Clark Kent wearing a Superman costume and saying to Lois and Lana, "I'll tell you why I won't marry either of you! Who wants a wife who's so stupid that she doesn't even realize I'm Clark Kent when I put on these glasses?"
(I'm happy for him, that he eventually did get married, though I feel sorry for Lana. But, he could only marry one of them....)

I can honestly say I can. I am more of a X-Men, fantastic four and batman. So I really dont like superman, over played.

i dont like superman, but i dont hate him either, is so stupid how the people in the comic cant tell Clark Kent is Superman, thats the part i hate the most and the villians are really really stupid, if kryptonite kills superman, why dont they stay with superman and make sure taht he doesnt remove it and or make bullets tipped with and filled WIth Kryptonite, to shoot at him, he would die so easily.

Superman is not my favorite, but he has a place in society i think this world needs him (even though he is just a character and not real)

yes i know what you mean but he has alot of fans because he was the first comic book super hero, he was the first great hero developed by immirgrants which really helped civil rights plus he gave way to new jobs

"S" is for stupid. I agree. Supes is a total deus exmachina character. literally nothing can defeat him. even when he does somehow get defeated, he just bounces back stronger. Is that deus ex machina, or what?
