I love movie nights! We have them on a monthly basis. Here are some new releases that may (or may not) interest you.

Failure to Launch (Romantic Comedy) - A overgrown mama's boy who hasn't found the courage to take flight from the nest gets a little help from the girl of his dreams in the one comedy that proves it's never to late to strike out on your own. Tripp (Matthew McConaughey) may have hit 30, but that doesn't mean that he's ready to give up the many benefits of living at home with mom (Kathy Bates) and dad (Terry Bradshaw). His desperate parents have had enough, though, and after years of gentle nudging they soon realize that it's going to take a concerted effort to get Tripp out and enjoy their twilight years in peace. Realizing that their only hope for ridding themselves of their reluctant-to-leave offspring rides on the off-chance of his meeting the ideal female companion, mom and dad enlist the help of a beautiful and talented woman (Sarah Jessica Parker) in providing the romantic incentive needed to finally get their son out of the family home. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Freedomland (Drama) - Joe Roth directs his adaptation of Richard Price's novel Freedomland from a script by the author. Samuel L. Jackson stars as a police detective who must investigate a distraught woman (Julianne Moore) who claims that her child was kidnapped by a black man. The accusation stirs up much racial animosity in the town. Edie Falco co-stars. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide

16 Blocks (Action) - A hard-drinking, hard-living cop assigned the task of transporting a small-time criminal to the nearby courthouse finds that a simple, 16-block drive can be the longest ride of his life in director Richard Donner's urban action thriller. Hung-over, has-been cop Jack Mosley (Bruce Willis) has seen better days, and all that the force expects out of him these days is to stay out of trouble while he's on the clock. Eddie Bunker (Mos Def) is set to testify before a grand jury at 10:00 a.m., and it's up to Mosely to make sure that Bunker makes it to the courthouse in one piece -- a job that Mosely estimates will take a maximum of 15 minutes. A black van has been trailing the pair unnoticed, though, and after stopping off at a nearby liquor store to pick up some breakfast, Mosely emerges from the store just in time to save Eddie from the lethal bullet of a determined assassin. When backup arrives in the form of Detective Frank Nugent (David Morse), Mosely quickly realizes that the detective on Nugent's team is the same cop that Bunker is set to testify against. Now faced with the tough task of dodging bullets and eluding a massive onslaught of corrupt cops, Mosely must keep Bunker alive long enough to get him before the judge and ensure that justice is served. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Derailed (Thriller) - A clandestine love affair may claim a terrible price from two desperate people in this intelligent thriller. Charles Schine (Clive Owen) is an advertising executive who is happily married to Deana (Melissa George) and has a young daughter. However, that begins to change when Charles meets Lucinda Harris (Jennifer Aniston) on a commuter train. Lucinda, who is also married with a daughter, keeps bumping into Charles on the train, and they strike up a friendship that soon grows into something deeper. Eventually Charles and Lucinda fall into infidelity, but the consequences turn out to be greater than they imagined; Philippe Laroche (Vincent Cassel) is a dangerous criminal with a taste for violence who has learned about the affair. Laroche demands a substantial payment if he is to keep the word of Charles and Lucinda's relationship from their spouses, but they become convinced that Laroche is not to be trusted and that he may mean to do greater harm to their loved ones than simply telling them they've been unfaithful. Derailed was the first American project for Swedish filmmaker Mikael Håfström. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

***The only one I haven't seen is 16 Blocks, but it has had good reviews. I particularly liked Freedomland and Derailed.

For Drama--Tristan and Isolde or Memoirs of a Geisha

For Action--Mr. & Mrs. Smith or Mindhunters

Mindhunters and Tristan & Isolde are ones you may not have heard of, but trust me they are excellent!

Check out Rottentomatoes.com for reviews of movies that a lot of people rely on.
I would suggest Equilibrium, Down With Love, and maybe Clerks if you don't mind offensive language and content.
Edit: Someone mentioned Empire Records, which is another great movie.

About her being on board an airplane searching for her daughter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a good site for more info. on movies and rentals
http://movies.yahoo.com/
And the site to where I rent ALL of my movies..Blockbuster
http://www.blockbuster.com/catalog/LoadCatalogList.action?channel=&subChannel=sub&listID=1010654&listType=Movie%20List&displayBoxArt=true&cctr=leftnewrelease
It will show if you want to rent them at home..but I just use it as a source to see what's new and old. Sometimes if you see the cover than I can better remember the movie if I've seen it or not or if it looks like it might be good.
Hope that helps....
And don't forget the popcorn and snacks!
Sharin' my smiles...
